9 HILARIOUS Mother's Day Memes To Remind You Parenting Isn't Easy from typicalstudent.org

It’s been eight years since Game of Thrones season 5 aired, but the internet is still buzzing with hilarious memes from the show. As one of the most popular TV series of all time, Game of Thrones has inspired countless memes, and season 5 is no exception. Here, we take a look at some of the funniest memes from the season and why they continue to make us laugh today.

The “Shame” Meme

Perhaps one of the most iconic memes from season 5 is the “Shame” meme. In the show, Cersei Lannister is forced to walk naked through the streets of King’s Landing as penance for her crimes. As she walks, a woman follows her, ringing a bell and shouting “Shame!” over and over again.

Internet users quickly turned this scene into a meme, adding captions like “When your mom makes you go outside and play” or “When you have to go to work on Monday morning.” The meme has since taken on a life of its own, with people using it to express their frustrations with everything from politics to social media.

Responses from Fans:

“The ‘Shame’ meme is a classic. It’s funny because it’s so relatable. We’ve all had moments where we’ve felt like we’re being publicly shamed for something.”

“I love how this meme has taken on a life of its own. It’s so versatile and can be used in so many different contexts.”

The “Hold the Door” Meme

The “Hold the Door” meme is another iconic meme from Game of Thrones season 5. In the show, the character Hodor sacrifices himself to save his friends by holding a door shut while they escape. As he does so, he repeats his own name (“Hodor”) over and over again.

The scene quickly became a meme, with people using it to express their feelings of being overwhelmed or overworked. For example, a caption might read “When your boss asks you to work overtime on a Friday” with a picture of Hodor holding the door.

Responses from Fans:

“The ‘Hold the Door’ meme is so sad but also so funny. It’s a great way to express those moments when you feel like you’re being crushed by the weight of everything on your plate.”

“I love how this meme has become a tribute to Hodor. It’s a great way to remember the character and the impact he had on the show.”

The “Valar Morghulis” Meme

The “Valar Morghulis” meme is another popular meme from season 5. In the show, the phrase “Valar Morghulis” is a saying in the fictional language of High Valyrian, which translates to “All men must die.”

The phrase has since become a meme, with people using it to express their dark sense of humor. For example, a caption might read “When you realize it’s Monday tomorrow” with a picture of a character saying “Valar Morghulis.”

Responses from Fans:

“The ‘Valar Morghulis’ meme is so funny because it’s so dark. It’s a great way to express that sense of dread we all feel sometimes.”

“I love how this meme has become a part of popular culture. Even people who haven’t seen Game of Thrones know what ‘Valar Morghulis’ means.”

The “Jon Snow Lives” Meme

After season 5 aired, fans of the show were left wondering whether or not Jon Snow was really dead. In response, a meme emerged that simply read “Jon Snow Lives” with a picture of the character.

While the meme didn’t necessarily make us laugh, it did capture the excitement and anticipation surrounding the show. When season 6 finally aired and Jon Snow was revealed to be alive, the meme became even more popular.

Responses from Fans:

“The ‘Jon Snow Lives’ meme was so exciting. It really captured the anticipation we all felt waiting for the next season.”

“I love how this meme became a symbol of hope for fans of the show. We all wanted to believe that Jon Snow was still alive.”

The “Winter is Coming” Meme

While “Winter is Coming” is a phrase that’s been around since the beginning of the show, it really took on a life of its own during season 5. As the threat of the White Walkers grew, so too did the popularity of the “Winter is Coming” meme.

Today, the phrase is used to express a sense of impending doom or to make light of the cold weather. For example, a caption might read “When you finally get your heating bill” with a picture of a character saying “Winter is Coming.”

Responses from Fans:

“The ‘Winter is Coming’ meme is so versatile. It can be used in so many different contexts.”

“I love how this meme has become a part of popular culture. Even people who haven’t seen Game of Thrones know what ‘Winter is Coming’ means.”

The Shame Meme Game Of Thrones: How It Became A Cultural Phenomenon

28 Shame Meme Game Of Thrones
28 Shame Meme Game Of Thrones from hexrecords.blogspot.com

It’s been almost a decade since the first episode of Game of Thrones aired, but the show’s impact on popular culture is still felt today. One of the most enduring legacies of the show is the “shame” meme, which has taken on a life of its own. In this article, we’ll explore the origins of the shame meme, its evolution over time, and what it tells us about the power of internet culture.

The Origins of the Shame Meme

The shame meme first appeared in Season 5 of Game of Thrones, in a scene where Cersei Lannister is forced to walk naked through the streets of King’s Landing as a form of punishment. As she makes her way through the crowds, a woman follows her, ringing a bell and shouting “shame” over and over again. The scene is meant to be a humiliating experience for Cersei, but it also spawned one of the most memorable memes in recent memory.

Almost immediately after the episode aired, people began creating parodies of the “shame” scene. These parodies took many forms, from remixes set to popular songs to GIFs that showed Cersei being shamed in unexpected places. The meme quickly spread across social media, and soon everyone was using the word “shame” as a way to call out bad behavior.

The Evolution of the Shame Meme

Over time, the shame meme has taken on a life of its own. It’s no longer just associated with Game of Thrones; instead, it’s become a shorthand for any situation where someone is being called out for their actions. The word “shame” has even been turned into a verb, with people saying things like “don’t shame me” or “I’m shaming you right now” in everyday conversation.

The shame meme has also evolved visually. While the original scene in Game of Thrones was quite serious and somber, the parodies that followed were often humorous or absurd. Some of the most popular shame memes involve Cersei being shamed in ridiculous situations, like on a rollercoaster or at a fast food restaurant.

The Power of Internet Culture

The shame meme is just one example of how internet culture can take something small and turn it into a global phenomenon. In the past, memes were primarily shared within niche communities; now, they can spread across the world in a matter of hours. This is partly due to the rise of social media, which has made it easier than ever for people to share and remix content.

But the shame meme also speaks to something deeper: our need to call out bad behavior. In a world where social norms are constantly shifting, the shame meme provides a way for people to express their disapproval in a way that is both humorous and cathartic. It’s a way for us to say “this behavior is not okay” without resorting to anger or violence.

The Future of the Shame Meme

As Game of Thrones comes to a close, some have wondered whether the shame meme will continue to have relevance. After all, it’s tied so closely to a specific moment in the show’s history. But others believe that the shame meme will continue to evolve, taking on new forms and meanings as it spreads across the internet.

One thing is certain: the shame meme has left an indelible mark on our culture. It’s become a symbol of our collective desire to hold people accountable for their actions, and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always room for humor and levity.

Response and Comments

“The shame meme is one of the few good things to come out of Game of Thrones in recent years. It’s funny, it’s relatable, and it’s a great way to call out bad behavior without resorting to anger or violence.”

“I love how the shame meme has evolved over time. It started out as a serious moment in the show, but now it’s something that can be used in almost any situation. It’s a testament to the power of internet culture.”

“I think the shame meme speaks to our need for justice. We all want to see bad behavior called out and punished, and the shame meme provides a way for us to do that in a way that’s both satisfying and entertaining.”

“The shame meme is a great example of how something small can have a big impact. It’s amazing to see how it’s spread across the internet and become a part of our everyday language.”

“I’m not a huge fan of Game of Thrones, but even I have to admit that the shame meme is pretty great. It’s one of those things that just makes you smile, no matter how bad your day has been.”

50 Game Of Thrones Memes That Are Better Than The Season 8 Finale from www.demilked.com

It’s been a few years since the Game of Thrones finale aired, but the memes are still going strong. Season 7 was particularly meme-worthy, with fans taking to the internet to share their reactions and opinions on the various plot twists and character arcs. Here are some of the best Game of Thrones memes from the season 7 finale.

The Wall Comes Down

One of the most shocking moments from the finale was when the Night King and his army of White Walkers destroyed the Wall with the help of Viserion, the dragon that had been turned into an ice dragon. Fans were quick to create memes about this epic moment, including one that showed the Night King on a snowboard, riding down the Wall as if it were a halfpipe.

“I couldn’t believe it when the Wall came down,” said John, a Game of Thrones fan from Chicago. “It was such a crazy twist, and the memes that came out of it were hilarious.”

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen

The relationship between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen was a major focus of season 7, and the finale saw them finally consummate their love. Fans had mixed feelings about this development, but it still led to some great memes. One popular meme showed Jon and Dany lying in bed together, with Jon telling Dany that he loved her, and Dany responding with “I know.”

“The Jon and Dany memes were some of my favorites,” said Sarah, a Game of Thrones fan from New York. “They were both so awkward and cute, and the memes captured that perfectly.”

Arya Stark and Sansa Stark

The relationship between Arya Stark and Sansa Stark was also a major focus of season 7, and many fans were disappointed with how it played out. The finale saw the sisters team up to take down Littlefinger, but some fans felt that their reconciliation was rushed and didn’t make much sense. This led to some memes that poked fun at the awkwardness of their scenes together.

“I really wanted to like the Arya and Sansa storyline, but it just didn’t work for me,” said Mark, a Game of Thrones fan from Los Angeles. “The memes were the only good thing to come out of it.”

The Dragonpit Meeting

The finale also featured a tense meeting between all the major players in King’s Landing, as they came together to discuss the threat of the White Walkers. The scene took place in the Dragonpit, a ruined arena that had been used for gladiatorial games in the past. Fans were quick to point out how ridiculous it was to hold a meeting in such a dangerous location, and the memes came pouring in.

“The Dragonpit meeting was so ridiculous,” said Emily, a Game of Thrones fan from London. “I mean, why would they choose such a dangerous location to hold a meeting? The memes were the only thing that made it bearable.”

Conclusion

Overall, the season 7 finale of Game of Thrones was a great source of memes for fans. Whether it was the Wall coming down, Jon and Dany’s relationship, Arya and Sansa’s awkward scenes, or the Dragonpit meeting, there was no shortage of material to work with. Even though the show has ended, the memes will live on forever.
