The year is 2023, and it’s been four years since the Game of Thrones series finale aired. While the hype has died down, the memes surrounding the final season of the hit show are still circulating on the internet. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the best and worst season 8 Game of Thrones memes and what they say about the show’s legacy.

The Best Memes

Let’s start with the positive. There were plenty of memes that captured the humor and heart of the show’s final season. One of the most popular was the “Bran the Broken” meme, which poked fun at the show’s decision to make Bran Stark the king of the Seven Kingdoms. The meme featured a photo of Bran with the text “I didn’t do anything, but I’m king now.”

Another fan favorite was the “Dracarys” meme, which referenced one of Daenerys Targaryen’s most iconic catchphrases. The meme featured a photo of a cat with the caption “When you’re trying to train your cat to use the litter box, but they keep pooping on the floor. Dracarys.”

Response from Fans

“The Bran meme was hilarious. I still can’t believe they made him king, but at least we got some great memes out of it.” – @GOTsuperfan

“The Dracarys meme was so relatable. I have a cat that refuses to use the litter box, and I definitely felt like I needed to set it on fire a few times.” – @CatLover123

The Worst Memes

Of course, not all of the season 8 Game of Thrones memes were winners. Some were just plain offensive or missed the mark entirely. One example is the “Mad Queen” meme, which depicted Daenerys as a deranged killer. This meme ignored the complexities of her character and reduced her to a one-dimensional villain.

Another meme that fell flat was the “Sansa the Savage” meme, which portrayed Sansa Stark as a ruthless queen. This meme ignored the growth and development of her character throughout the series and reduced her to a caricature.

Response from Fans

“The Mad Queen meme was so disrespectful. Daenerys deserved better than that.” – @DragonQueen

“I hated the Sansa the Savage meme. Sansa went through so much and became such a strong character, and the meme just made her look like a heartless monster.” – @StarkFanForever

The Legacy of Game of Thrones Memes

So what do these memes say about the legacy of Game of Thrones? On one hand, they show the enduring popularity and impact of the show. Even years later, fans are still finding ways to engage with and poke fun at the series. On the other hand, the meme culture surrounding season 8 highlights some of the show’s shortcomings.

Many fans were disappointed with the final season and felt that it didn’t live up to their expectations. The memes that emerged from season 8 reflect this disappointment and frustration. However, they also show that fans are still invested in the world of Westeros and its characters.

Response from Fans

“Game of Thrones may not have been perfect, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. The memes just make it even more memorable.” – @GOTForever

“I love the creativity that comes with the Game of Thrones memes. It’s a way for fans to come together and celebrate the show, even if we didn’t always agree with the direction it took.” – @MemeMaster3000
