What is the Surprised Meme Gif?
The surprised meme gif is a reaction gif that features the character Robert Redford from the 1972 film “Jeremiah Johnson.” In the scene, Redford’s character is surprised by something off-screen and his reaction is pure shock and disbelief. The gif has become a staple in internet culture and is used to express surprise, shock, and confusion.
One of the reasons why the surprised meme gif has become so popular is its versatility. It can be used in a variety of situations, from reacting to a ridiculous news story to expressing shock at a friend’s terrible haircut. Its popularity has even spawned a subreddit dedicated solely to the meme.
The History of the Surprised Meme Gif
The surprised meme gif has been around for several years now, but it didn’t really take off until 2018. That’s when the meme started to appear on social media and message boards more frequently. Since then, it has become one of the most popular reaction gifs on the internet.
Interestingly, the meme didn’t start out as a gif. It was originally a still image taken from the film “Jeremiah Johnson.” It wasn’t until later that someone turned the image into a gif, and the rest is history.
Why is the Surprised Meme Gif So Popular?
One of the reasons why the surprised meme gif has become so popular is its relatability. We all have moments in our lives when we’re caught off guard or surprised by something, and the gif captures that feeling perfectly. Additionally, the meme is easy to understand and doesn’t require any explanation, making it accessible to a wide range of people.
Another reason why the surprised meme gif has become so popular is its simplicity. The gif is just a few seconds long, but it packs a punch. It’s an easy way to express a complex emotion without having to type out a long message.
What Do People Think About the Surprised Meme Gif?
People have mixed feelings about the surprised meme gif. Some people love it and use it frequently to express their emotions online. Others find it overused and annoying.
“I think the surprised meme gif is hilarious,” says John, a frequent user of social media. “Whenever I see something that shocks me or catches me off guard, I immediately think of that gif. It’s become a part of my online vocabulary.”
However, not everyone is a fan of the meme. “I’m so sick of seeing that stupid Robert Redford gif,” says Emily, a social media user. “It’s everywhere and it’s so overused. Can’t people come up with something original?”
How to Use the Surprised Meme Gif
Using the surprised meme gif is easy. All you have to do is find the gif online (there are plenty of websites that offer it), copy the link or download the file, and then paste it into your message, tweet, or post. The gif will automatically play, and everyone will know exactly how you’re feeling.
It’s important to use the meme appropriately, though. You don’t want to use it in a situation where it might come across as insensitive or disrespectful. Additionally, try not to overuse the meme. Like Emily said, it’s important to come up with something original every once in a while.
