What is the Alaskan Pipeline Meme?
The Alaskan Pipeline meme is an image macro featuring a photo of a man with a large tube inserted into his rectum, which is connected to a container for collecting fecal matter. The caption typically reads, “When you’re constipated but your girl’s into some kinky sh*t.”
The meme first appeared on 4chan, a controversial imageboard website known for its anonymous and often offensive content. From there, it quickly spread to other social media platforms, including Reddit and Twitter, where it gained a large following.
The Controversy Surrounding the Meme

One of the most vocal opponents of the meme has been feminist author and activist Rebecca Solnit, who wrote an op-ed in The Guardian in which she called the meme “a new low in misogyny and objectification.” Solnit’s article sparked a heated debate online, with many people both defending and condemning the meme.
