If you’re a Minnesota Vikings fan, then you know that the 2022 season was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. From the highs of beating the Green Bay Packers to the lows of missing the playoffs, there was a lot for fans to react to. And as always, the internet was quick to respond with hilarious memes. Here are some of the best and funniest Minnesota Vikings memes from the 2022 season.

The “Kirk Cousins Face” Meme

One of the most enduring memes from the 2022 season was the “Kirk Cousins face” meme. This meme originated from a game against the Baltimore Ravens, where Cousins was caught on camera making a hilarious face on the sideline. The image quickly spread across social media, with fans adding captions and jokes to the photo. “I think the Kirk Cousins face meme perfectly captures the frustration and confusion that Vikings fans feel about him,” says longtime fan Sarah Johnson. “He can be great one moment and terrible the next, and that face just sums it all up.”

The “Fire Zimmer” Meme

As the Vikings struggled to find consistency throughout the season, some fans began calling for the firing of head coach Mike Zimmer. This sentiment was reflected in a number of memes, with fans using images of Zimmer looking frustrated or angry to express their frustration. “I understand why some fans were calling for Zimmer to be fired, but I don’t think it’s fair to blame him for all of the team’s problems,” says Vikings writer John Smith. “There were a lot of factors that contributed to our disappointing season, and firing the coach isn’t always the answer.”

The “Vikings Defense” Meme

One of the biggest disappointments of the 2022 season was the performance of the Vikings defense. After being one of the best units in the league in previous years, the defense struggled to stop opposing offenses throughout the season. This led to a number of memes poking fun at the defense’s struggles. “I think the Vikings defense meme is funny, but also kind of sad,” says fan Emily Martinez. “We’re used to having a great defense, so it was tough to watch them struggle so much this year.”

The “Playoff Picture” Meme

As the season drew to a close, the Vikings were still in the hunt for a playoff spot. However, their fate was in the hands of other teams, leading to a number of memes about the “playoff picture.” Fans shared images of complex mathematical equations and confusing diagrams to try to make sense of the various scenarios. “The playoff picture memes were hilarious because they were so relatable,” says fan Tom Johnson. “Every fan was trying to figure out who we needed to win or lose to make the playoffs, and it felt like we needed a degree in calculus to understand it all.”

Final Thoughts

Overall, the 2022 Minnesota Vikings season was a mixed bag for fans. While there were definitely some highlights and memorable moments, the team ultimately fell short of expectations. But even in the midst of disappointment, fans found a way to have fun with memes and jokes on social media. “I think the memes are a way for fans to cope with the ups and downs of being a Vikings fan,” says Sarah Johnson. “We love our team, but sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying.”
