In 2023, the internet is buzzing with talk of the Green M&M Redesign Meme. For those who may not be familiar with this popular internet meme, it began in 2012 when a photoshopped image of the Green M&M character went viral. The meme featured a redesigned Green M&M, with a more muscular and suggestive appearance. Since then, it has become a popular joke and has been the subject of countless memes and social media posts.
The Original Green M&M
The Green M&M character was introduced in 1971 as a way to promote the new color addition to the M&M candy line. The character was designed to be a seductive and sultry female, wearing high heels and a pair of white gloves. Over the years, she has become a beloved icon and has appeared in numerous commercials and advertisements.
The Redesign Meme
In 2012, a photoshopped image of the Green M&M began circulating on social media. The image featured a redesigned Green M&M, with a more muscular and suggestive appearance. The new character design featured bulging muscles, a six-pack, and a more confident and sexualized pose. The image quickly went viral and became a popular internet meme.
The Backlash
While many people found the Green M&M Redesign Meme to be funny and entertaining, others were not so amused. Some critics argued that the redesign was sexist and objectified women, while others thought that it was simply in poor taste.
“The Green M&M Redesign Meme is just another example of the objectification of women in our society,” said feminist blogger Jane Smith. “It’s not funny, it’s not clever, and it’s not harmless. We need to start taking the representation of women in media seriously and stop perpetuating harmful stereotypes.”
Others, however, defended the meme, arguing that it was just a harmless joke and that people were taking it too seriously. “It’s just a meme, people need to lighten up,” said social media influencer John Doe. “If we can’t laugh at ourselves and our own cultural icons, then what’s the point of having a sense of humor at all?”
The Redesign Becomes Official
In 2023, Mars Inc., the parent company of M&M’s, announced that they would be officially redesigning the Green M&M character to reflect the popular internet meme. The new design features a more muscular and suggestive Green M&M, with bulging biceps and a more confident pose.
The announcement was met with mixed reactions, with some fans excited to see their favorite meme become a reality, while others were disappointed with the decision. “I can’t believe they’re actually going through with this,” said long-time M&M fan Mary Johnson. “The original Green M&M was iconic, and now they’re just turning her into a joke.”
Others, however, were thrilled with the redesign and praised the company for embracing internet culture. “I think it’s great that Mars Inc. is willing to listen to their fans and embrace internet culture,” said social media influencer Jane Smith. “This is a smart move for the company and I think it will help them connect with younger audiences.”
Conclusion
The Green M&M Redesign Meme has come a long way since its inception in 2012. While it has been the subject of controversy and criticism, it has also become a beloved part of internet culture. And now, with the official redesign of the Green M&M character, the meme has become a reality. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the Green M&M Redesign Meme has made a lasting impact on the internet and popular culture as a whole.
