The Green Bay Packers have been a staple in the NFL since 1921, with an impressive record of 13 championships and four Super Bowl wins. However, even the most successful teams have their fair share of losses, and with every defeat comes a new wave of memes and jokes. In this article, we’ll take a look back at some of the most popular Green Bay Packers losing memes over the years.

The “Fail Mary” Game

Perhaps one of the most infamous games in Packers history, the 2012 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks ended in a controversial call that ultimately led to a Packers loss. The play, now known as the “Fail Mary,” involved a Hail Mary pass from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson that was intercepted by a Packers player, but ruled a touchdown catch by the replacement referees. The internet had a field day with this one, with memes circulating featuring images of the referees with captions like “You get a touchdown! You get a touchdown!”

Response from Packers fan, John: “I still can’t watch that game without getting angry. But I have to admit, some of the memes were pretty funny.”

The 2014 NFC Championship Game

Another heartbreaking loss for the Packers came in the 2014 NFC Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers had a 12-point lead with just over two minutes left in the game, but the Seahawks managed to score two touchdowns and a two-point conversion to force overtime. The Seahawks went on to win the game, and the internet once again went wild with memes poking fun at the Packers’ collapse.

Response from Seahawks fan, Sarah: “I remember that game like it was yesterday. The memes were just the icing on the cake.”

The 2019 NFC Championship Game

The Packers’ most recent NFC Championship Game appearance was in 2019, where they faced off against the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for the Packers, the game was a blowout, with the 49ers winning 37-20. Memes once again flooded social media, with many poking fun at Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Response from 49ers fan, Michael: “I was so happy to see my team dominate like that. But I have to admit, some of the memes were pretty brutal.”

Conclusion

While losing is never fun for any team or fanbase, it’s important to be able to laugh at ourselves and enjoy the memes that come with it. The Green Bay Packers may have had their fair share of losses over the years, but they remain one of the most successful franchises in NFL history. Who knows, maybe the next time the Packers lose, we’ll see even more hilarious memes and jokes flooding the internet.
