This meme features a screenshot of Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, with the caption “I’m not a robot” underneath. The humor comes from the fact that, of course, The Terminator is a robot. It’s a clever twist on the classic “I’m not a [insert thing here]” meme format.

The Hilarious World Of Lego Movie Memes

Legacy of the Green Ninja Poster by joshuad17 Lego ninjago, Lego from www.pinterest.com

It’s been nearly a decade since the release of the first Lego Movie, but the memes it spawned continue to thrive on social media platforms. From the catchy “Everything is Awesome” tune to the hilarious one-liners from characters like Emmet and Batman, the movie provided plenty of fodder for meme creators. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some of the most popular Lego Movie memes and explore why they continue to resonate with audiences even years after the film’s initial release.

The Classic “Everything is Awesome” Meme

Perhaps the most iconic Lego Movie meme is the “Everything is Awesome” song. The upbeat tune is catchy and infectious, and it’s hard not to feel a surge of positivity when you hear it. But of course, meme creators took that sentiment and ran with it in all sorts of directions. One popular version of the meme features the song’s lyrics overlaid on top of a bleak, post-apocalyptic landscape. The contrast between the cheerful lyrics and the desolate setting is both hilarious and a little bit unsettling.

The meme has also been used in more political contexts, with versions that poke fun at politicians or controversial policies. For example, a meme featuring the lyrics “Everything is Awesome when you’re part of a team” might be used to satirize a political party’s unity or to criticize a group for blindly following their leader.

Quotes from the Movie

Another rich source of Lego Movie memes is the film’s dialogue. Characters like Emmet, Batman, and Unikitty all have memorable lines that have been repurposed for memes. For example, the line “I only work in black, and sometimes very, very dark gray” has become a go-to for internet users who want to express their love of the color black.

There are also numerous memes that riff on the “master builder” concept from the film. In the movie, master builders are characters who can create elaborate structures out of Lego bricks without instructions. In the world of memes, however, being a master builder might mean something entirely different. For example, a meme might feature a picture of someone who has constructed an elaborate sandwich or a complicated computer setup, with the caption “When you’re a master builder.”

The Lego Batman Movie Memes

The Lego Batman Movie, a spinoff of the original Lego Movie, also spawned its fair share of memes. The film features Will Arnett voicing a hilarious version of the Dark Knight, complete with brooding soliloquies and a penchant for emo music. Some of the best memes from the movie feature Batman in all sorts of ridiculous situations, from dancing to the Macarena to struggling to open a jar of pickles.

Of course, the Lego Batman Movie memes aren’t limited to just the Caped Crusader. Characters like Robin, the Joker, and Alfred have all been turned into memes as well. One popular meme features a picture of Robin with the caption “This is my favorite part of the movie,” poking fun at his tendency to get excited about mundane things.

The Enduring Appeal of Lego Movie Memes

So why do these memes continue to be so popular years after the release of the original Lego Movie? For one thing, the film was incredibly successful and widely beloved, so it’s no surprise that fans would want to keep the laughter going. But beyond that, the memes also tap into a sense of nostalgia and playfulness that is at the heart of the Lego brand. Lego toys have been a beloved childhood staple for generations, and the movies and memes that have sprung up around them allow people of all ages to tap into that sense of fun and creativity.

As one Reddit user put it, “The Lego Movie is the perfect balance of nostalgia and newness, and the memes capture that perfectly. They’re a fun way to connect with other fans of the movie and to relive some of the best moments from the film.”

The Future of Lego Movie Memes

So what does the future hold for Lego Movie memes? It’s hard to say, but one thing is for sure: as long as people continue to love the movies and the Lego brand, the memes will keep on coming. Whether it’s a new catchphrase from a future Lego movie or a clever riff on an old favorite, meme creators will no doubt find ways to keep the laughter going for years to come.
