Malang, a city located in East Java, Indonesia, has recently become the center of attention for meme enthusiasts. This is due to the emergence of a unique business called “meme florist” that combines the art of flower arrangement with popular internet memes.
What is Meme Florist?
Meme florist is a florist that creates flower arrangements based on popular internet memes. These memes can be anything from funny pictures to popular catchphrases. The idea is to create a unique and fun experience for customers who want to give flowers for various occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, or even as a way to say sorry.
The concept of meme florist started in Malang in 2022 when a local florist named Dewi Santoso decided to combine her love for flowers and internet memes. She started by creating a few flower arrangements based on popular memes and posted them on social media. The response was overwhelming, and soon enough, her business took off.
How Does Meme Florist Work?
Meme florist works like any other florist. Customers can either visit the physical store or order online. The only difference is that instead of choosing a traditional flower arrangement, they can choose a meme-based one. The florist will then create the arrangement based on the customer’s chosen meme.
For example, if a customer chooses the “distracted boyfriend” meme, the florist will create an arrangement with three flowers. The first flower will represent the boyfriend, the second will represent the girlfriend, and the third will represent the other woman. The flowers will be arranged in such a way that it resembles the meme.
The Impact of Meme Florist
Meme florist has gained popularity not only in Malang but also in other parts of Indonesia. Many people find the concept unique and refreshing, and it has become a hit among young people who are familiar with internet memes.
“I think it’s a brilliant idea. It’s something new and different from the traditional flower arrangements,” said Vicky, a customer who ordered a meme-based flower arrangement for her friend’s birthday. “My friend loved it, and it definitely made her day.”
However, not everyone is a fan of the concept. Some people think that it’s too gimmicky and doesn’t take the art of flower arrangement seriously.
“I don’t understand why anyone would want to order a flower arrangement based on a meme. It’s just silly,” said Sarah, a traditional flower arrangement enthusiast. “I prefer the classic and elegant look of traditional flower arrangements.”
The Future of Meme Florist
Despite the mixed reactions, meme florist seems to be here to stay. In fact, many other florists in Malang have started to offer meme-based flower arrangements to meet the growing demand.
“We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of customers who want meme-based flower arrangements. It’s a trend that we can’t ignore,” said Dian, a florist who recently started offering meme-based flower arrangements.
It’s clear that meme florist has created a new market for the flower industry. It’s a fun and creative way for people to express their emotions through flowers. Whether you’re a fan or not, it’s hard to deny the impact that meme florist has had on the industry.
Conclusion
Meme florist may have started as a small business in Malang, but it has quickly become a phenomenon. It’s a unique concept that has captured the attention of many people, especially young people who are familiar with internet memes. While some may see it as a gimmick, there’s no denying that meme florist has created a new market for the flower industry. Only time will tell if it’s just a passing trend or if it’s here to stay.
