The Origins of the Humming Song Meme

The humming song meme first emerged in 2013, when a video titled “Man humming with harmonica” was uploaded to YouTube by user Cj Hendry. The video featured a man named Tim Byrnes humming a catchy tune while playing a harmonica, and quickly went viral after being shared on social media.

Although the original video only featured a few seconds of the humming, it was enough to capture the attention of internet users around the world. Soon, the humming song was being remixed and mashed up with other songs, and even inspired a number of original compositions.

The Memes and Parodies

One of the reasons that the humming song meme was so successful was its versatility. The catchy melody could be applied to almost any situation, and was used in countless memes and parodies over the years.

Some of the most popular versions of the meme included remixes that combined the humming with popular songs from a variety of genres. For example, there was a version of the humming song set to the tune of “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, as well as one that was mixed with the theme from the TV show “Breaking Bad”.

Other parodies and remixes took a more humorous approach, with some featuring the humming song being used to soundtrack ridiculous or surreal situations. One popular example involved a video of a cat playing with a toy, with the humming song playing in the background.
