Linus Tech Tips comments on selfcensorship in the face of coronavirus from reclaimthenet.org

It’s been almost a decade since the infamous Linus Mac Loss meme took the internet by storm. For those who may not remember, the meme features a screenshot of Linus Sebastian, the founder of the popular tech YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips, looking devastated while holding a MacBook. The image quickly became a viral sensation and has since been used to express disappointment or frustration in various situations.

The Origins of the Meme

The Linus Mac Loss meme first appeared in a video uploaded to Linus Tech Tips’ YouTube channel on January 16, 2013. In the video, Linus unboxed and reviewed the then-new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. While he praised the laptop’s design and performance, he expressed disappointment that it only had two USB ports and no Ethernet port.

It was during this part of the video that Linus made the now-iconic facial expression that would be immortalized in meme form. The screenshot was later posted on the Linus Tech Tips forum and quickly spread to other corners of the internet.

The Impact of the Meme

The Linus Mac Loss meme quickly became a staple of internet culture, with people using it to express disappointment, frustration, and defeat in a variety of contexts. It’s been used to mock everything from failed video game launches to disappointing election results.

Many people found the meme relatable because it captured the feeling of being let down by something you were excited about. Others appreciated the humor in Linus’ exaggerated expression and the versatility of the meme itself.

Responses from Linus and Other Tech Influencers

Despite the meme’s popularity, Linus himself hasn’t always been a fan. In a Q&A video posted to the Linus Tech Tips channel in 2018, he expressed frustration with the meme’s continued use and said that he wished people would move on from it.

Other tech influencers have also weighed in on the meme over the years. Some have praised Linus for being a good sport and embracing the meme, while others have criticized the internet for turning a harmless moment into something that’s sometimes used to mock or belittle him.

Comments from Fans

“I love the Linus Mac Loss meme! It’s so versatile and always makes me laugh.” “I feel bad for Linus sometimes, but he seems to take it all in stride. Plus, the meme is hilarious.” “I think people need to remember that Linus is a real person with real feelings. It’s one thing to laugh at the meme, but it’s another to use it to bully or harass him.”

The Legacy of the Meme

Despite Linus’ wish for the meme to fade into obscurity, it’s still going strong almost a decade later. In fact, it’s become so ubiquitous that some people may not even realize where it originated.

For better or worse, the Linus Mac Loss meme has cemented its place in internet history. It’s a reminder of the power of a single image to capture a moment and spark a cultural phenomenon.

Final Thoughts

Love it or hate it, the Linus Mac Loss meme is here to stay. It’s a testament to the enduring appeal of internet culture and the ways in which a simple screenshot can take on a life of its own. Whether you’re a fan of Linus Tech Tips or not, there’s no denying the impact that this meme has had on the online world.

Alabama Memes Flood The Internet After Devastating Loss

THAT FACE YOU MAKE WHEN AN ALABAMA FAN SAYS ANYTHING
THAT FACE YOU MAKE WHEN AN ALABAMA FAN SAYS ANYTHING from me.me

On January 9th, 2023, the college football world was in shock as the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a crushing defeat in the National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Fans of the Tide were left heartbroken and devastated, but in the world of social media, the loss sparked a flood of hilarious memes.

The Rise of Alabama Memes

In recent years, the internet has become a breeding ground for memes, and the world of sports is no exception. Memes have become a way for fans to express their emotions and reactions to big games and events. The rise of Alabama memes can be traced back to the dominance of the Crimson Tide in college football over the past decade.

Alabama has won six national championships since 2009, and as a result, their fans have become accustomed to winning. However, the internet has a way of humbling even the most dominant of teams, and the Tide’s loss to Ohio State was no exception.

The Best Alabama Memes After the Loss

As soon as the game ended, social media was flooded with memes poking fun at Alabama and their fans. Here are some of the best ones:

“Alabama Fans Right Now”

This meme features a picture of a person holding a trash can with the caption “Alabama fans right now.” The meme plays off of the fact that Alabama fans often refer to other teams as “trash.”

“Alabama’s Defense”

This meme features a picture of a Spongebob Squarepants character with the caption “Alabama’s defense trying to stop Ohio State.” The meme pokes fun at the fact that Ohio State was able to score 52 points against Alabama’s usually dominant defense.

“Alabama Fans in 2019”

This meme features a picture of a person holding a sign that says “15-0” with the caption “Alabama fans in 2019.” The meme plays off of the fact that Alabama went undefeated in the 2019 season, but were unable to repeat the feat in 2023.

Reaction from Alabama Fans

While some Alabama fans were able to laugh at the memes, others were not amused. Many fans took to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with the loss.

“I don’t see how anyone could find these memes funny,” said one Alabama fan. “We had a bad game, but we’ll be back next year.”

Others were more philosophical about the loss. “We’ve had a good run,” said another fan. “It’s time for someone else to have a turn.”

The Future of Alabama Memes

While the loss to Ohio State was a tough one for Alabama fans, it’s unlikely that it will put an end to the flood of memes that have become synonymous with the Crimson Tide’s dominance. As long as Alabama remains a top team in college football, fans of other teams will continue to poke fun at them through the power of memes.

But for Alabama fans, the memes are just a small part of the experience of being a fan of the Crimson Tide. The passion and loyalty of Alabama fans will continue to shine through, no matter what the internet has to say about them.

25 Weight Loss Memes You'd Lose Calories LOLing At from sayingimages.com

Weight loss can be a daunting and challenging journey for many people. It often involves a lot of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. However, in recent years, a new trend has emerged on social media that is making the journey a little bit easier for some individuals. That trend is weight loss memes.

What are Weight Loss Memes?

Weight loss memes are humorous images or captions that poke fun at the struggles and challenges of losing weight. They often use sarcasm, irony, or self-deprecating humor to make light of the situation and provide a much-needed break from the seriousness of the journey.

This trend has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, with many people using weight loss memes as a way to connect with others who are going through the same struggles. They often share these memes on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, where they can reach a wide audience and spark conversations.

The Positive Impact of Weight Loss Memes

While weight loss memes may seem like a lighthearted trend, they can have a significant positive impact on individuals’ mental health and body image. By using humor to address the challenges of weight loss, these memes help people reframe their mindset and view the journey in a more positive light.

According to Dr. Amy Cirbus, the Director of Clinical Content at Talkspace, “Humor can be a powerful tool in coping with difficult situations. It can help individuals feel more in control of their lives and reduce the negative impact of stress on their mental health.”

In addition, weight loss memes can also help individuals feel less alone in their journey. By sharing these memes, people can connect with others who are going through similar experiences, which can be a powerful source of support and motivation.

The Importance of Body Positivity

While weight loss memes can be a helpful tool in improving body image, it’s important to note that they should not be used as a substitute for body positivity. Body positivity is about accepting and loving your body, regardless of its shape or size, and recognizing that everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way.

Weight loss memes can be a useful tool in helping people navigate the challenges of weight loss, but they should not be used to shame or ridicule individuals for their bodies. It’s crucial to approach weight loss with a positive and compassionate mindset, rather than a judgmental or critical one.

What People are Saying About Weight Loss Memes

The response to weight loss memes has been overwhelmingly positive, with many people praising them for their ability to provide a much-needed break from the seriousness of the journey.

One individual shared, “Weight loss memes have been a lifesaver for me. They help me laugh at myself and not take the journey too seriously. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in this journey.”

Another individual added, “Weight loss can be really tough, but weight loss memes make it a little bit easier. They help me stay motivated and keep a positive mindset.”

Weight loss can be a challenging journey, but weight loss memes are providing a much-needed source of humor and support for many individuals. By using humor to address the challenges of weight loss, these memes are helping people reframe their mindset and view the journey in a more positive light.
