It’s been a decade since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and while the game received mixed reviews upon its initial release, it has since become a cult classic among Zelda fans. But what really sets Skyward Sword apart from its predecessors is its meme-worthy moments. From the quirky characters to the frustrating motion controls, here’s a rundown of the best Skyward Sword memes to grace the internet.
Table of Contents
The Good
One of the most beloved characters in Skyward Sword is Groose, a cocky and arrogant student at the Knight Academy. His iconic pompadour hairstyle and tendency to call Link “spikes” has made him a fan favorite, spawning countless memes and fan art. One popular meme features Groose with the caption “I should have been the hero of this game” poking fun at his inflated ego.
Another standout character is Fi, the robotic companion who guides Link on his journey. While she may be helpful, her lack of emotions and tendency to state the obvious has led to some hilarious memes. One popular meme features a screenshot of Fi saying “Master, I detect a 98% chance that this door is locked” with the caption “Thanks, Fi. I didn’t notice the giant lock on the door.”
The Bad
While Skyward Sword is a beloved game, it’s not without its flaws. One of the biggest complaints about the game is the motion controls, which many players found to be frustrating and unresponsive. This has led to some memes poking fun at the game’s reliance on motion controls. One popular meme features a screenshot of Link holding his sword with the caption “When you accidentally hit your TV with the Wii remote.”
Another common complaint about the game is the repetitive nature of the gameplay. Many players found themselves revisiting the same areas multiple times, leading to some memes about the game’s lack of variety. One popular meme features a screenshot of Link saying “I must return to the Temple of Time” with the caption “Again?!”
The Hilarious
Of course, not all Skyward Sword memes are created equal. Some are just downright hilarious. One standout meme features a screenshot of Link flying on his Loftwing with the caption “When you finally get the hang of the motion controls” followed by a screenshot of Link falling off with the caption “When you realize you spoke too soon.”
Another hilarious meme features a screenshot of Link saying “I’m sorry, Zelda. I can’t let you touch the Triforce” with the caption “Link being a simp for the Triforce.”
