The Origin Story
The “I’m Wheezing” meme originated from a viral video posted on TikTok by user @jenniferrr. In the video, Jennifer is seen trying on a pair of pants that are clearly too small for her. As she struggles to button them, she can be heard wheezing and laughing at the same time. The video quickly went viral, and before long, people were using the audio to create their own videos.
One of the earliest and most popular examples of the meme was a video posted by Twitter user @dylanobrien. In the video, Dylan can be seen struggling to open a jar of pickles. As he finally manages to get it open, he exclaims “I’m Wheezing!” The video quickly gained traction and became one of the most shared memes of the year.

We’ve all been in situations where we’ve struggled to do something, whether it’s opening a jar or fitting into a pair of pants. The meme also has a self-deprecating element to it, as the person in the video is laughing at themselves and their own struggles.
But perhaps the biggest appeal of the meme is its versatility. The audio can be used in a variety of situations, from expressing excitement to reacting to something funny. This has led to countless variations of the meme, each one funnier than the last.
