In the early 2020s, a meme featuring the character Dio Brando from the popular anime/manga series Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure began to gain traction on social media. The meme, which featured a still image of Dio with a smug expression and his arms folded, quickly became known as the “Dio Jojo Meme Face.” This meme was used to convey a sense of superiority or confidence, often in a humorous or sarcastic way.
As with many internet memes, the “Dio Jojo Meme Face” had its heyday and eventually faded into obscurity. However, it remains a beloved piece of internet history for many fans of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and meme culture in general.

The Origins of the “Dio Jojo Meme Face”
The “Dio Jojo Meme Face” originated from a scene in the anime adaptation of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. In the scene, Dio (the main antagonist of the series) is confronted by the protagonist Jotaro Kujo. Dio responds by folding his arms and giving a smug look, which quickly became a meme among fans of the series.
However, the meme really exploded in popularity when it was combined with a popular internet meme format known as the “Expanding Brain” meme. This format involves a series of images, each with a different level of complexity or absurdity, with the final image being the most extreme or ridiculous. The “Dio Jojo Meme Face” was often used as the final image in these memes, implying that the ultimate level of intelligence or superiority was represented by Dio’s smug expression.

The “Dio Jojo Meme Face” had a significant impact on internet culture during its peak popularity. It was used in a wide variety of contexts, from political commentary to gaming culture. Its versatility and humor made it a favorite among internet users of all ages and backgrounds.
However, as with any meme, its popularity eventually waned. Today, the “Dio Jojo Meme Face” is still occasionally used by diehard fans of the series, but it has largely faded into obscurity.
