zeze

If you were on social media in 2018, you might remember the viral meme of rapper Kodak Black dancing to his hit song “Zeze.” The meme, which featured Kodak Black’s exaggerated dance moves and catchy chorus, quickly became a sensation and spread like wildfire across the internet. However, as with most viral trends, the hype eventually died down, and the meme was soon forgotten. In this article, we’ll take a look back at the history of the Kodak Black Zeze meme, its impact on pop culture, and why it ultimately faded away.

The Birth of the Zeze Meme

The Kodak Black Zeze meme first surfaced in November 2018, when a Twitter user posted a video of Kodak Black dancing to “Zeze” with the caption “when you finally catch feelings for someone.” The video quickly went viral, and soon, other users began creating their own versions of the meme, using the clip of Kodak Black’s dance in various contexts.

The Impact of the Meme

The Zeze meme quickly became a cultural phenomenon, with users all over social media creating their own versions of the video. It was featured on popular meme pages, shared by celebrities, and even referenced in TV shows and movies. The song “Zeze” itself also saw a boost in popularity, climbing up the charts and becoming one of the biggest hits of 2018. However, not everyone was a fan of the meme. Some critics argued that it was a form of cultural appropriation, as Kodak Black is a black artist who was being mocked by predominantly white meme creators. Others pointed out that the meme was getting old, and that it was time to move on to something new.

The Decline of the Zeze Meme

As with all viral trends, the Zeze meme eventually began to fade away. By early 2019, it had largely disappeared from social media, replaced by new memes and viral sensations. However, some die-hard fans of the meme still continued to create their own versions, and Kodak Black himself even referenced the meme in interviews and on social media.

Responses from People Who Know It

I think it’s just the nature of memes – they have a short lifespan and then they’re replaced by something new.” – Olivia, 25 “I think the Zeze meme was kind of problematic, to be honest. It felt like a lot of white people were making fun of a black artist, and that just didn’t sit right with me.” – Marcus, 29 “I loved the Zeze meme! I was always trying to come up with my own version of it. I think it was just a fun way to connect with people and share a laugh.” – Sarah, 22

The Legacy of the Zeze Meme

So, what is the legacy of the Zeze meme? While it may not have had the lasting impact of some other viral sensations, it’s still remembered fondly by many as a fun and silly moment in pop culture. It also serves as a reminder of the power of memes to connect people and create shared cultural experiences.
