Daylight Saving Time, or Horário de Verão in Portuguese, has been a subject of controversy and debate for decades. While some people enjoy the extra hour of daylight in the evenings, others find it disruptive to their sleep schedule and daily routine. But one thing that everyone can agree on is the abundance of hilarious memes that come with this biannual tradition.

The History of Horário de Verão

Daylight Saving Time was first introduced in Germany during World War I as a way to conserve fuel. Since then, it has been adopted by many countries around the world, including Brazil. Horário de Verão was first implemented in Brazil in 1931, but it has not been without its controversies.

In recent years, there has been a push to eliminate Horário de Verão in Brazil due to concerns about its effectiveness in saving energy and its impact on public health, particularly on sleep patterns. However, for now, it remains a part of Brazilian culture and a source of humor for many.
