Dark Souls is a game that has gained a huge following since its release in 2011. The game is known for its difficulty, intricate world-building, and compelling lore. One of the most popular memes to come out of the Dark Souls community is the “meme roll.” This maneuver involves rolling to dodge attacks while carrying a heavy load, and has become a popular meme among the game’s fans. In this article, we’ll explore the origins of the Dark Souls meme roll, how to perform it in the game, and some of the best memes associated with it.
The Origins of the Dark Souls Meme Roll
The Dark Souls meme roll originated from the game’s unique mechanics. In the game, players have a limited amount of stamina that is used to perform actions like attacking and rolling. If a player is carrying a heavy load, their stamina will drain more quickly, making it more difficult to dodge attacks. However, players discovered that if they timed their rolls correctly, they could avoid attacks even while carrying a heavy load. This maneuver quickly became known as the “meme roll” and has since become a staple of the Dark Souls community.
Performing the Dark Souls Meme Roll
Performing the Dark Souls meme roll requires precise timing and a bit of practice. To execute the maneuver, players must first be carrying a heavy load. This can be accomplished by equipping heavy armor or weapons, or by carrying a lot of items in their inventory. Once the player is carrying a heavy load, they must wait for an enemy to attack. As the attack is about to land, the player must roll to dodge the attack. If timed correctly, the player will perform a slow, lumbering roll that looks comical and has become the source of many memes.
