smith

In the summer of 2023, a meme featuring NBA player Jr Smith and a pot of soup took the internet by storm. The photo, which showed Smith standing in front of a stove with a large pot of soup and a perplexed look on his face, quickly went viral and became the subject of countless jokes and memes.

The Origin of the Meme

The photo, which was originally taken during Smith’s time as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, was posted on social media by his wife, Jewel Harris. In the caption, Harris joked that Smith had burned the soup and was trying to fix it before she found out.

However, it wasn’t until a few days later that the photo began to gain traction as a meme. A Twitter user by the name of @Djhelmet8 posted the photo with the caption “When you’re trying to fix the code on a project and it just keeps getting worse,” and the rest is history.

The Memes Take Over

Once the Jr Smith soup meme started to spread, it seemed like everyone had their own take on it. Some people used the photo to make jokes about cooking, while others used it to poke fun at their own mistakes or failures.

The meme also took on a life of its own on social media, with people creating their own versions of the photo and sharing them for others to see. Some of the most popular versions included Smith standing in front of a computer screen, a blank canvas, and even a broken car engine.

Responses from Jr Smith and Jewel Harris

As the meme continued to grow in popularity, both Jr Smith and his wife Jewel Harris weighed in on the situation. Smith took to Twitter to say that he found the whole thing hilarious, while Harris expressed her surprise at how quickly the photo had taken off.

“I never would have thought that a simple photo of Jr cooking soup would turn into such a big deal,” Harris said in an interview with The New York Times. “But it just goes to show you how unpredictable the internet can be.”

What the Jr Smith Soup Meme Says About Internet Culture

The Jr Smith soup meme is just one example of how quickly things can spread on the internet. In a matter of days, a simple photo of a basketball player cooking soup became a viral sensation, with thousands of people sharing their own versions of the meme.

But what does this say about internet culture as a whole? Some argue that the Jr Smith soup meme is a perfect example of how the internet can bring people together and create a sense of community through humor and shared experiences.

Others, however, point out that the meme is just another example of how easily misinformation and fake news can spread on the internet. While the Jr Smith soup meme is harmless enough, it’s not hard to imagine how a similar situation could lead to more serious consequences.

Final Thoughts

Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the Jr Smith soup meme was one of the biggest viral sensations of 2023. From Twitter to Instagram to Facebook, the photo of Jr standing in front of a pot of soup made its way around the internet and became a cultural touchstone for a generation.

And while the meme may have faded from the public consciousness in the years since it first went viral, its impact on internet culture will not soon be forgotten.
