In 2010, Disney released the hit animated film, Tangled, which introduced the world to the charming and witty thief, Flynn Rider. His popularity skyrocketed, and it wasn’t long before he became a household name. But it wasn’t until a few years later that Flynn Rider would become the subject of a popular meme.
The Birth of the Flynn Rider Meme
The Flynn Rider meme originated in 2013 when a Tumblr user posted a screenshot of a scene from Tangled where Flynn is seen holding up his wanted poster. The user captioned the post with a witty remark, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The meme took off quickly, and soon, social media was flooded with variations of the Flynn Rider meme. The most popular version featured Flynn holding up his wanted poster, accompanied by a caption that poked fun at a particular situation or trend.
Some of the most memorable Flynn Rider memes include the one where he is holding up a poster with the caption “When you said you were good at math, but you can’t even calculate how much you owe me,” and the one where he is holding up a poster with the caption “When you finally find a hair tie that matches your outfit.”
The Flynn Rider Meme Goes Viral
As the Flynn Rider meme continued to gain popularity, it soon went viral. People from all over the world were sharing their own variations of the meme, and it wasn’t long before it became a cultural phenomenon.
The meme was so popular that it even caught the attention of Disney, who capitalized on its success by creating their own version of the meme. In 2015, they released a video featuring Flynn Rider holding up a wanted poster with the caption “I stole a heart, and they let me keep it.”
The video was a hit, and it helped to keep the Flynn Rider meme alive for a few more years. But eventually, like all memes, the Flynn Rider meme began to fade away.
The Fall of the Flynn Rider Meme
As with all memes, the Flynn Rider meme began to lose its appeal over time. People moved on to other memes, and the popularity of the Flynn Rider meme began to wane. But that doesn’t mean that it has been completely forgotten.
Even today, there are still people who remember the Flynn Rider meme fondly. They look back on it as a simpler time, when the internet was a more innocent place, and memes were just starting to become a thing.
What People Are Saying About the Flynn Rider Meme Today
When asked about the Flynn Rider meme, people had mixed reactions. Some remembered it fondly and said that it was one of their favorite memes of all time. Others had never heard of it before and were surprised to learn that it was once so popular.
“I remember the Flynn Rider meme,” said one person. “It was one of my favorites. I loved how creative people could be with it.”
“I had no idea that the Flynn Rider meme even existed,” said another. “It’s interesting to see how memes can become so popular and then just disappear.”
Conclusion
The Flynn Rider meme may no longer be as popular as it once was, but it will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who remember it. It was a meme that brought people together and allowed them to express themselves in a creative and humorous way. And for that, we will always be grateful.
