In 2012, the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced a scene in the Avengers movie that would become one of the most memorable moments in the franchise. In the scene, the villainous Loki taunts the Hulk, only to be met with the infamous line, “Puny god,” and a swift smashing by the green giant. The scene became an instant hit and spawned the “Hulk Smash Loki” meme, which took the internet by storm.

The Birth of the Meme

The “Hulk Smash Loki” meme started to gain traction shortly after the release of the Avengers movie. Fans of the franchise took to social media to share the scene and create their own versions of it. The meme was simple: take a video or image of someone or something getting smashed, and overlay the “Hulk Smash Loki” audio clip.

The meme quickly went viral, and it seemed like everyone was jumping on the bandwagon. Memes featuring everything from celebrities to animals were being shared across the internet. The meme even made its way into mainstream media, with news outlets and talk shows discussing its popularity.

The Impact of the Meme

The “Hulk Smash Loki” meme had a significant impact on popular culture. It was a testament to the power of the internet and how quickly things can go viral. The meme also helped to solidify the Hulk as one of the most iconic characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
