Holden, an Australian car brand, has been around for over a century. Throughout its history, it has captured the hearts of many Australians. However, with the brand’s closure in 2020, fans have taken to social media to share their love for Holden through memes.

The Birth of Holden Memes

Holden memes began to emerge in the early 2010s, but they gained significant momentum after the brand’s announcement of its closure. However, as time passed, the memes became less about the closure and more about the quirks and idiosyncrasies of Holden cars.

The Top Holden Memes

One of the most popular Holden memes is the “Holden vs. Ford” rivalry. Australians have long debated which car brand is superior, and Holden fans have made memes to support their side. One meme shows a Holden fan holding a sign that reads, “I’d rather push my Holden than drive a Ford.” Another meme shows a Ford driver with a broken-down car, while a Holden driver passes by and says, “Need a lift, mate?”

Another popular meme is the “Commodore Starter Pack.” The meme shows a picture of a Holden Commodore with a list of items, such as a pack of Winnie Blues cigarettes and a VB beer, that are stereotypically associated with Holden drivers.
