diya

Back in 2021, the internet was taken by storm by a meme that involved an Indian woman saying “Kaisa Diya?” which roughly translates to “How did you give it?” This meme quickly became popular on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and was used to create hilarious content that people couldn’t stop sharing. However, the meme’s popularity was short-lived and it faded away just as quickly as it had arrived.

The Origins of Kaisa Diya Meme

The Kaisa Diya meme originated from a scene in the Indian television show, Saath Nibhana Saathiya. In the scene, the character Kokilaben Modi (played by Rupal Patel) asks her daughter-in-law, Gopi Bahu (played by Devoleena Bhattacharjee), about a cooker that she had given to her. The way Kokilaben asks the question, with her thick Gujarati accent, and the confusion in her tone, made the scene hilarious and perfect for meme creation.

The meme started gaining traction when a Twitter user named @rashidakhanum_ posted a clip of the scene on Twitter with the caption “This is the best thing you will see today.” The tweet went viral, and soon after, people started using the clip to make their own versions of the meme.

The Popularity of Kaisa Diya Meme

Once the Kaisa Diya meme caught on, there was no stopping it. People from all over the world were making their own versions of the meme, adding their own spin to it to make it even funnier. The meme was used to make jokes about everything from relationships to politics, and it seemed like everyone had their own take on it.

Even celebrities got in on the action. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh shared their own versions of the meme, and international stars like Lilly Singh and Mindy Kaling also jumped on the bandwagon.

The Demise of Kaisa Diya Meme

As with all memes, the Kaisa Diya meme’s popularity eventually started to wane. People started moving on to the next big thing, and the meme slowly started disappearing from people’s social media feeds. Some people even started to get annoyed with the meme, saying that it had been overused and that it wasn’t funny anymore.

Despite its short lifespan, the Kaisa Diya meme will always be remembered as one of the most iconic memes of the early 2020s. It brought people together and gave them something to laugh about during a time when the world was going through a lot of turmoil.
