How it all started

The Aaron Rodgers collarbone meme began shortly after the quarterback’s injury in 2017. When news of the injury broke, fans and non-fans alike took to Twitter to express their sympathy for Rodgers. However, some users decided to take a different approach and turned the situation into a joke.

One of the first memes to gain traction featured a picture of Rodgers with a broken collarbone, accompanied by the caption, “When you realize the Packers season is over.” The meme quickly went viral and was shared thousands of times across social media platforms.

The meme evolves

While the original Aaron Rodgers collarbone meme was funny, it was also a bit mean-spirited. However, as time went on, the meme began to evolve and take on new forms.

One popular version of the meme features a picture of Rodgers with a serious expression, accompanied by the caption, “When you remember that you’re dating a Danica Patrick.” This meme plays off the fact that Rodgers is in a relationship with the professional race car driver and has become one of the most popular versions of the meme.
