It’s been three years since Lady Gaga’s epic Super Bowl halftime performance, but her memes are still making rounds on the internet. The pop star’s performance at Super Bowl 51 left the world in awe, and as with any viral moment, the internet responded with a plethora of memes. Here’s a look at some of the best Lady Gaga memes from Super Bowl 51.

The Jump Heard Around the World

One of the most iconic moments of Lady Gaga’s performance was her jump off the top of the stadium. The internet was quick to turn this moment into a meme, with many comparing it to various video game characters or superheroes. Twitter user @CoryBrennan5 posted a side-by-side comparison of Gaga’s jump and the famous scene from The Dark Knight Rises where Batman jumps off a building.

Many people were in awe of the jump, with some even questioning if it was real. Lady Gaga confirmed in an interview with Good Morning America that the jump was indeed real, and that she had been preparing for it for months.

Political Statements

During her performance, Lady Gaga made a subtle political statement by singing part of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land,” a song that has become synonymous with protest movements. The internet was quick to pick up on this, with some praising Gaga for using her platform to make a statement.

Not everyone was pleased, however. Some viewers took to social media to express their disappointment in Gaga’s political statement, with tweets like “Can’t we just have a damn halftime show without politics?” and “I’m done with Lady Gaga after that political stunt.”

Costume Changes

Lady Gaga is known for her elaborate and often eccentric costumes, and her Super Bowl performance was no exception. The internet had a field day with Gaga’s various outfit changes, with some comparing her to a Power Ranger or a character from Sailor Moon.

One of the most popular memes to come out of Gaga’s costume changes was a comparison to the character Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants. Twitter user @Michael5SOS posted a side-by-side comparison of Gaga and Squidward, with the caption “Lady Gaga looking like Squidward ready to perform at the Bubble Bowl.”
