What does it mean? And why has it become so popular? In this article, we’ll explore the answers to these questions and more.
Origins of the Boomhauer It Meme
The “Boomhauer It” meme originated from an episode of the popular animated TV series, “King of the Hill.” The show, which first aired in 1997, centers around the life of Hank Hill, a propane salesman in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. One of the show’s recurring characters is Dale Gribble, a paranoid conspiracy theorist who always wears a hat and sunglasses.
In the episode “Revenge of the Lutefisk,” Dale and his friends are trying to decipher a message that they believe was sent from a secret government agency. At one point, Dale turns to his friend Bill Dauterive and says, “Bill, if I ever say the words ‘it’ and ‘boomhauer’ in the same sentence, I need you to shoot me.”
Later in the episode, Dale accidentally says the forbidden words, and Bill pulls out a gun and points it at him. Dale then corrects himself and says, “I mean, Boomhauer it.” This moment became the inspiration for the “Boomhauer It” meme.
