It’s 2023, and the internet is abuzz with the latest Spider-Man meme. You’ve likely seen it by now – a screenshot from a hypothetical Spider-Man movie where three different versions of the web-slinging hero point at each other, with captions that range from hilarious to downright bizarre.

But how did this meme come to be, and why has it taken over the internet? Let’s take a closer look.

The Origins of the Spider-Man Meme 3

The original image comes from a scene in the fan-favorite animated series “Spider-Man: Into the Multiverse,” where multiple versions of Spider-Man meet for the first time. In the scene, the characters are confused and pointing at each other, trying to figure out who the “real” Spider-Man is.

It wasn’t until a few years later that the scene was turned into a meme, with users on social media adding their own captions to the image. The first few iterations were relatively simple – captions like “Me, Myself, and I” or “The Holy Trinity” accompanied the image, pointing out the three different Spider-Men.

The Rise of Spider-Man Meme 3

As with many memes, the Spider-Man image began to evolve and mutate as more and more people got their hands on it. Soon, the captions became more absurd and surreal, with users crafting their own bizarre scenarios for the three Spider-Men to be pointing at each other.

Some of the most popular captions include “When you and your two alters all agree on something,” “When the squad discovers a fourth friend,” and “When you’re arguing with yourself in the shower.” The possibilities are endless, and users across the internet have been taking advantage of the meme’s versatility.

The Impact of Spider-Man Meme 3

So why has this meme taken over the internet in such a big way? Part of it is undoubtedly the popularity of the Spider-Man franchise – the character has been a beloved icon for decades, and the recent resurgence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has only increased his visibility.

But beyond that, the Spider-Man meme 3 is a perfect example of the chaotic, absurdist humor that has become so prevalent in online culture. The meme is simultaneously nonsensical and relatable, tapping into the feeling of being overwhelmed or confused by the world around us.

As one Twitter user put it, “I’ve never related to a meme more than the Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man one.” The meme has struck a chord with people across the internet, and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
