The Beginning of the Salma Hayek Meme Trend

The Salma Hayek meme trend started in 2019 when a video of her making a confused face on The Ellen Show went viral. The clip quickly became a meme, with people using it to express their confusion or disbelief.

Shortly after, another meme featuring Salma Hayek started to trend on social media. This time, it was a still from her 1999 movie “Wild Wild West” where she plays the character Rita Escobar. The image was widely used to depict a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants.
