The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams faced off in the Super Bowl last year, and while the game itself was a bit lackluster, the memes that followed were anything but. From Tom Brady’s smug grin to Jared Goff’s confused expression, social media was flooded with hilarious memes that had football fans laughing for days. Let’s take a look back at some of the best Patriots vs Rams memes of 2022.

The Game

Before we dive into the memes, let’s do a quick recap of the game itself. The Patriots won 13-3 in what was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in history. Tom Brady won his sixth Super Bowl ring, solidifying his status as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Meanwhile, the Rams struggled on offense, with Jared Goff throwing for only 229 yards and one interception.

The Memes

Now, onto the good stuff. One of the most popular memes to come out of the game was a screenshot of Tom Brady’s smug grin after completing a pass. Fans turned the image into a variety of hilarious memes, with captions like “When you win your sixth Super Bowl ring and your haters are still in denial” and “When you realize you’re the GOAT and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.” Another popular meme featured a confused-looking Jared Goff, with captions like “When you realize you’re playing in the Super Bowl and not the Pro Bowl” and “When you forget the plays and just start running around like a chicken with its head cut off.”
