The release of a new iPhone model is always a big event for tech enthusiasts and Apple fans. However, it also brings a wave of memes and jokes on social media, highlighting the new features and design changes. The iPhone 11, released in 2023, was no exception. Here are some of the funniest memes and reactions to the latest Apple device.

The Camera Bump

One of the most noticeable changes in the iPhone 11 was the camera bump, a square-shaped module that houses multiple lenses and sensors. While some praised the improved camera capabilities, others couldn’t help but mock the design choice. Many memes compared it to a stovetop, a fidget spinner, or a spider’s eyes. Some users even created fake ads for the “iPhone 11 Pro Max Ultra Mega Super Camera Edition,” with a comically large camera bump taking most of the back cover. “I don’t know if I need a phone or a wok to cook with the new iPhone 11,” joked @user123 on Twitter. “Apple really said let’s make it look like a spider and scare everyone,” added @funnymemeaccount on Instagram.

The Price

As usual, the iPhone 11 came with a premium price tag, which sparked some criticism and disbelief among consumers. While Apple defended the cost by highlighting the device’s advanced technology and materials, many users couldn’t help but make fun of the price. Memes included comparisons to a down payment for a house, a year’s worth of groceries, or a luxury car. Some even joked that they had to sell a kidney to afford the iPhone 11. “I’m just gonna wait until the iPhone 12 comes out so I can finally afford the iPhone 11,” said @jokester23 on TikTok. “The iPhone 11 costs more than my entire wardrobe and I still can’t take pictures with it,” added @fashionista567 on Twitter.

The Notch

The “notch” is a small cutout at the top of the iPhone’s screen, which houses the front-facing camera and sensors. While it was first introduced in the iPhone X and became a signature design element, some users still find it distracting or ugly. The iPhone 11 didn’t change the notch’s size or position, which led to some memes and complaints. “Why does the iPhone 11 still have a notch? Did Apple run out of ideas or just want to keep the unibrow trend going?” asked @techguru99 on Reddit. “The notch is like a permanent uninvited guest on my phone screen,” said @user456 on Instagram.

The Memes Keep Coming

Despite some criticisms and jokes, the iPhone 11 still sold millions of units and received positive reviews from tech experts. However, the memes and reactions on social media show that humor and creativity are always part of the conversation around new gadgets and trends. Whether it’s making fun of design choices, mocking the price, or simply sharing a relatable meme, users find ways to express their opinions and entertain each other. “I don’t even need the iPhone 11, but I’m here for the memes,” said @memequeen123 on TikTok. “Apple should hire meme makers to promote their products, they would sell out in seconds,” added @marketingpro456 on Twitter.
