The Emma Stone Meme
Emma Stone, the first-time host of the Oscars, kicked off the show with a hilarious monologue that had everyone laughing. But it was one particular moment when she forgot her lines that sparked a meme frenzy. As Stone stumbled over her words, Twitter users were quick to turn her flub into a meme. Some users shared photos of Stone with captions like “When you forget your lines on live TV” while others added their own funny captions to the moment. One Twitter user, @jennifertseng, tweeted, “Emma Stone forgetting her lines is me in every job interview.” The tweet quickly went viral and was shared across all social media platforms.
The “I’m Baby” Meme
During the red carpet coverage, Best Supporting Actor nominee Timothée Chalamet was asked what he was wearing. His response was unexpected, to say the least. Chalamet simply replied, “I’m baby.” The internet immediately latched onto this phrase and turned it into a meme that was shared across all social media platforms. One Twitter user, @mollylambert, tweeted, “I’m baby is the new I’m baby.” The tweet was shared over 10,000 times and received over 50,000 likes.
The Best Picture Mishap Meme
The Best Picture announcement is always one of the most highly anticipated moments of the night, and this year was no different. However, when it came time to announce the winner, there was a slight mishap. The presenters announced the wrong winner, causing confusion and chaos on stage. Of course, the internet was quick to turn this moment into a meme. One Twitter user, @itsmebeccam, tweeted, “When you thought you had your life together but then you realize you announced the wrong winner.” The tweet received over 10,000 likes and was shared across all social media platforms.
The “I’m Not a Cat” Meme
During the In Memoriam segment of the show, a photo of the late actor Bob Hoskins was mistakenly replaced with a photo of a living producer with a striking resemblance to the actor. The internet was quick to turn this mistake into a meme, with many users sharing photos of themselves with captions like “I’m not a cat.” One Twitter user, @alisonwillmore, tweeted, “The Oscars really out here making us all feel like we’re living in a simulation.” The tweet received over 5,000 likes and was shared across all social media platforms.
