In 2016, the highly anticipated movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released, and it sparked a lot of discussions and debates among fans. But among the most memorable things that came out of the film were the hilarious memes that flooded the internet. And in Spanish-speaking countries, the memes were just as popular, if not more so. Here, we take a look back at some of the funniest memes featuring Batman and Superman.

The Memes
One of the most popular memes to come out of the movie was the comparison between Batman’s and Superman’s moms. In the movie, Batman and Superman are fighting, but then Batman finds out that Superman’s mother has the same name as his own mother, Martha. This leads to Batman realizing that Superman is not such a bad guy, and they team up to fight a common enemy.
But the internet had a field day with this plot point, and soon memes were popping up everywhere with pictures of Martha Kent and Martha Wayne, the mothers of Superman and Batman respectively. Some of the memes showed the two mothers meeting each other, while others showed them fighting over who had the better son.
Another popular meme featured a scene from the movie where Superman is standing in front of a statue of himself. In the scene, the statue has a rather phallic-looking pole sticking out of the crotch area. The meme took this image and added the caption “Superman: The Man of Steel, and Other Hard Materials.”
Responses from Fans
The memes quickly became a hit among Spanish-speaking fans, who took to social media to share their favorites. Many fans appreciated the humor and creativity of the memes and enjoyed seeing their favorite superheroes being portrayed in a humorous light.
One fan, Maria from Mexico, said, “I loved the memes! They were so funny and made me laugh every time I saw them. I especially liked the one with the two Marthas fighting over their sons.”
Another fan, Juan from Spain, said, “The memes were great! They showed how creative people can be, and it was fun to see all the different ways that people could make jokes about the movie.”
