It’s that time of the year again when we celebrate the birth of something that ultimately means nothing, the Nihilist Memes Birthday. This annual event has been gaining popularity among the online community, particularly those who enjoy the dark and absurd humor of nihilism. For those who are unfamiliar with nihilism, it is a philosophical belief that life has no inherent meaning or value, and that all values and beliefs are baseless.

The Origins of Nihilist Memes
The rise of nihilist memes can be attributed to the increasing popularity of meme culture in the early 2010s. Memes are a form of online content that spread rapidly through social media platforms, often using humor and satire to highlight social and cultural issues. Nihilist memes take this idea to the extreme by highlighting the absurdity and meaninglessness of life.
One of the most popular nihilist meme pages is the Facebook page “Nihilist Memes”, which has over 2 million followers. The page features a variety of memes that poke fun at human existence, religion, politics, and pop culture. The page’s tagline sums up the nihilist philosophy perfectly, “Life is meaningless, but memes will make you feel better”.
