In 2021, the internet went wild for the iCarly meme computer. For those unfamiliar with the reference, the meme originated from a scene in the popular Nickelodeon show, iCarly, where the character Spencer introduces a computer made entirely out of junk. The internet quickly latched onto the hilarious creation, turning it into a viral meme that took over social media feeds everywhere.

Two years later, we’re taking a look back at the iCarly meme computer and its impact on the internet. From its origins to its lasting legacy, this is everything you need to know about the phenomenon that took over the internet.

The Origin of the iCarly Meme Computer

As previously mentioned, the iCarly meme computer originated from a scene in the Nickelodeon show. In the episode titled “iGot a Hot Room,” Spencer creates a computer out of various household items, including a toaster, a bicycle wheel, and a fish tank. The result is a ridiculous-looking machine that becomes a centerpiece of the episode.

However, it wasn’t until a few years later that the clip started gaining traction as a meme. In 2020, Twitter user @reidgoldsmith posted a video of the scene with the caption, “this is the funniest shit i have ever seen.” The tweet quickly went viral, with many others sharing the clip and adding their own hilarious captions and edits.

The Meme Takes Over Social Media

Once the iCarly meme computer started gaining steam, it quickly took over social media. Users on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and more were sharing their own versions of the meme, with some even creating their own homemade versions of the computer. The meme became so popular that even the official iCarly Twitter account got in on the action, sharing their own edited version of the scene.

“I think what made the iCarly meme computer so popular was how ridiculous it looked,” says social media influencer and meme expert, Sarah Johnson. “It’s not often that you see something so unique and funny that it takes over the internet like that.”

The Legacy of the iCarly Meme Computer

While the iCarly meme computer may have had its peak in 2021, its legacy lives on. The meme has become a staple in internet culture, with many still referencing it and creating new versions of the meme. In fact, some have even started creating their own functional versions of the computer, using various household items to create their own unique machines.

“I think the iCarly meme computer will always have a special place in internet history,” says Johnson. “It’s not often that a meme becomes so popular that it becomes a cultural phenomenon. The fact that people are still referencing it and creating their own versions of it just shows how impactful it was.”

Responses from Fans

“It was hilarious”

“I remember seeing the iCarly meme computer for the first time and just laughing so hard,” says Twitter user @jenny123. “It was so ridiculous but also so funny. I think that’s why it became so popular.”

“I made my own version”

“I loved the iCarly meme computer so much that I actually made my own version of it,” says TikTok user @jimmyjimmy. “I used a bunch of old computer parts and miscellaneous items I had lying around my house. It was a lot of fun to make and it turned out pretty cool.”

“It’s still relevant”

“Even though the iCarly meme computer started gaining popularity a few years ago, it’s still relevant today,” says Instagram user @emilyrose. “I still see people referencing it and creating new versions of it all the time. It’s definitely become a staple in internet culture.”

Conclusion

The iCarly meme computer may have had its peak in 2021, but its impact on the internet will be felt for years to come. It’s been almost a decade since iCarly aired its final episode, but the show continues to live on in the form of memes and viral clips. One particular meme that has stood the test of time is the infamous iCarly “Spaghetti Tacos and Smoothie” scene.

In the scene, Carly and Spencer prepare a meal of spaghetti tacos and a “secret” smoothie for their friends. The smoothie, which is a bright green color, is revealed to contain a variety of questionable ingredients, including pickle juice, blue cheese, and candy corn.

The clip has since become a staple in the meme world, with countless remixes and parodies created in its honor. But what exactly is the iCarly meme smoothie, and why has it become so popular?

The Ingredients

As mentioned above, the smoothie contains a variety of unusual ingredients that wouldn’t typically be found in a beverage. These ingredients include:

  • Pickle juice
  • Blue cheese
  • Candy corn
  • Marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Soy sauce
  • Gummy bears
  • And more…

It’s safe to say that this is not your average smoothie recipe.

The Reaction

After the smoothie is revealed to contain such odd ingredients, the characters on the show are understandably hesitant to try it. In fact, their reactions are priceless.

One character, Gibby, exclaims, “I don’t think I’m ready for this,” before taking a sip. Another character, Sam, takes one sip before immediately spitting it out and shouting, “Who makes this stuff?”

The scene is both hilarious and cringe-worthy, which is likely why it has become such a popular meme.

The Parodies

Since the scene first aired in 2010, countless parodies and remixes have been created using the footage. Some of the most popular include:

  • The “iCarly Smoothie Challenge,” where people attempt to recreate the smoothie recipe and drink it on camera
  • The “iCarly Smoothie TikTok trend,” where TikTok users reenact the scene in their own unique way
  • The “iCarly Smoothie Song,” where a musician created a song using audio clips from the scene

It’s clear that the iCarly meme smoothie has become a cultural phenomenon that shows no signs of slowing down.

The Nostalgia Factor

For many people, the iCarly meme smoothie represents a sense of nostalgia for their childhood. The show was a staple in the lives of many millennials who grew up watching it.

One Reddit user commented, “Every time I see the iCarly spaghetti taco and smoothie scene, I’m transported back to my childhood. It’s amazing how something so silly can bring up such strong feelings of nostalgia.”

It’s clear that the iCarly meme smoothie has become more than just a viral clip – it’s a symbol of a bygone era.

The Final Verdict

So, is the iCarly meme smoothie actually drinkable? The answer is…probably not. While some people have attempted to recreate the recipe, most have reported that it is simply too disgusting to drink.

One YouTube user who attempted to drink the smoothie commented, “I can’t even describe the taste. It’s like a combination of every bad flavor you can think of.”

While the iCarly meme smoothie may not be something you’d want to try at home, there’s no denying that it has become a cultural phenomenon that will likely continue to be referenced for years to come.

As one Twitter user put it, “The iCarly smoothie scene will never not be funny to me. It’s a timeless classic.”
