In 2019, a meme featuring a man named Harold went viral on social media. The meme featured a stock photo of a man with a puzzled look on his face, and it quickly became a sensation. People began creating their own captions and memes using the photo, and it wasn’t long before Harold became a household name.
While the Harold meme was incredibly popular, many people began to wonder about the man behind the meme. Who was he? What was his real name? Was he aware of his newfound fame?
Who is Harold?
The man behind the Harold meme is actually a Serbian model and actor named Zoran Kesić. Kesić’s photo was used for the original stock photo that became the Harold meme.
While Kesić’s face has become synonymous with the Harold meme, he had no idea that his photo had become so popular until someone pointed it out to him.
What is Kesić’s reaction to the meme?
In an interview with Serbian news outlet Blic, Kesić revealed that he was surprised to learn that his photo had become such a viral sensation.
“When I saw it, I didn’t know what was happening,” Kesić said. “I was surprised, but in a positive way. It’s nice to be recognized for something.”
Despite his newfound fame, Kesić hasn’t let it go to his head. He still works as a model and actor, and he continues to live his life as he always has.
The Real Harold
While Kesić’s photo has become synonymous with the Harold meme, it’s important to note that Harold is not actually his real name. In fact, the man in the photo has no connection to the name Harold whatsoever.
The name Harold actually came from the caption that was added to the original photo when it was first shared online. Someone added the caption “When you write your crush a love letter and she corrects all your grammar” to the photo, and the meme was born.
