It’s been three years since the Another Glorious Morning Meme first took the internet by storm. The meme features a still of a man named Steve, sitting on his porch with a cup of coffee and a smile on his face, and the text “Another Glorious Morning… Makes Me Sick!” superimposed on top.
Despite the meme’s initial popularity, many people today might not be familiar with it. So, let’s take a look back at the history of this viral sensation and why it captured the attention of so many people.
The Origins of Another Glorious Morning Meme
The Another Glorious Morning Meme originated from a scene in the 1998 movie American History X. In the scene, Steve, played by Edward Furlong, is sitting on his porch enjoying his morning coffee when his brother Derek, played by Edward Norton, comes outside and begins to criticize him for being lazy.
The line “Another Glorious Morning… Makes Me Sick!” was then born, and it wasn’t until years later that it became a meme.
The Rise in Popularity
The meme gained popularity in the summer of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With people stuck at home and feeling the monotony of daily life, the meme provided a relatable and humorous outlet for many.
It quickly spread across social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, with users sharing their own takes on the meme and adding their own captions.
