Back in 2014, the release of the film Captain America: The Winter Soldier brought a lot of buzz and excitement, not only because of the impressive visuals and action-packed scenes, but also because of one particular scene that would later become a viral meme: the elevator scene.

In this scene, Captain America (played by Chris Evans) is shown entering a crowded elevator full of suspicious-looking SHIELD agents. As the elevator ascends, the tension builds up as the agents start to reveal their true intentions – to capture and detain Captain America. But to their surprise, Captain America was one step ahead and was able to take them down one by one, all while delivering the iconic line: “Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?”

The Birth of the Meme

It didn’t take long for this scene to gain traction online, with fans creating various memes and parodies that put their own spin on the elevator scene. Some of the most popular ones include replacing the SHIELD agents with different characters or adding humorous captions to the dialogue.

One of the most memorable memes was the “Hail Hydra” version, where the dialogue was changed to make it seem like Captain America was actually a Hydra agent all along. This meme gained a lot of attention and even sparked some controversy among fans who felt that it went against the character’s values.

The Impact of the Meme

The Captain America elevator meme quickly became a staple in pop culture and was referenced in various TV shows, movies, and even political campaigns. It became a symbol of empowerment and defiance, with many people using it as a way to express their own feelings of standing up against oppression and injustice.

Some people even took it to the next level and recreated the entire scene, complete with costumes and props, and shared it online for the world to see. This sparked a trend of fan-made films and videos that paid tribute to their favorite movies and characters.

The Legacy of the Meme

Now, almost a decade later, the Captain America elevator meme still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans. It has become a timeless classic that continues to inspire and entertain people all over the world.

But what do people who were involved with the making of the movie think about this meme? We asked Chris Evans himself about his thoughts on the meme and here’s what he had to say:

“I never would have thought that one scene in a movie would have such a lasting impact. It’s amazing to see how creative and passionate the fans are, and I’m honored to have been a part of something that has brought so much joy to so many people.”

It’s clear that the Captain America elevator meme has left a positive impact on the world of pop culture and has become a symbol of hope and strength for many people.
