From Brennan Lee Mulligan’s hilarious NPC characters to the players’ wild antics, there’s no shortage of material for meme-makers to work with. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the best Dimension 20 memes that have emerged over the years, as well as explore why they’ve resonated so strongly with the show’s fanbase.

The Origins of Dimension 20 Memes

Dimension 20 first premiered in 2018, and it didn’t take long for fans to start creating memes based on the show’s quirky characters and over-the-top moments. Some of the earliest memes were centered around characters like Fabian Aramais Seacaster, the pompous paladin played by Lou Wilson, and Kristen Applebees, the lovable but clueless bard played by Siobhan Thompson. These memes often featured screenshots or quotes from the show, accompanied by clever captions or inside jokes.

The Rise of “Brennan Face”

One of the most iconic aspects of Dimension 20 memes is the infamous “Brennan face.” This refers to the various hilarious expressions that Brennan Lee Mulligan, the show’s Dungeon Master and creator, makes during gameplay. Whether he’s reacting to a player’s ridiculous decision or hamming it up as one of his many NPCs, Mulligan’s facial expressions have become a staple of the show’s humor.

Reaction to “Brennan Face”

Fans have responded enthusiastically to “Brennan face,” with many creating memes that showcase Mulligan’s various expressions. Some of the most popular examples include “The Mulligan Stare,” which features a screenshot of Mulligan looking incredulous, and “The Mulligan Smile,” which captures his mischievous grin. Fans have also created memes that highlight specific moments when Mulligan’s expressions were particularly hilarious or memorable.

The Players Get in on the Fun

Of course, it’s not just Mulligan who gets meme-ified on Dimension 20. The players themselves have become meme-worthy thanks to their hilarious interactions and character choices. Some of the most popular player memes include “Emily Axford Telling Brennan to Roll for It,” which references a moment when Axford’s character, Adaine Abernant, insisted that Mulligan roll a die to see if her spell worked. Fans have also created memes based on other player moments, such as Zac Oyama’s infamous “I Cast Zone of Truth” declaration.

Response on Player Memes

Fans have embraced these player memes with open arms, often using them as shorthand to express their love for certain characters or scenes. Many fans have commented that the memes capture the essence of what makes Dimension 20 so enjoyable: the mix of humor, heart, and unpredictability that comes from watching a group of talented comedians and improvisers play Dungeons & Dragons together.
