It’s been almost a year since the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly anticipated game during the 2022 season. And yet, the memes that emerged from that game are still circulating on social media and making people laugh. But why do these memes continue to be popular in 2023? Let’s take a closer look.

The Origin of the Memes
For those who may have missed it, the Cowboys-Eagles game in 2022 was a highly anticipated matchup between two division rivals. The game was close, with both teams trading leads throughout. However, in the end, the Cowboys emerged victorious, beating the Eagles 28-24.
After the game, fans took to social media to celebrate their team’s victory and poke fun at their rivals. Memes featuring the Cowboys’ star quarterback, Dak Prescott, and the Eagles’ struggling defense quickly began to circulate.
The Humor in the Memes
So why are these memes still making people laugh in 2023? For one, they tap into the age-old rivalry between the Cowboys and Eagles. Fans of both teams have a long history of trash-talking and poking fun at each other, and these memes are just the latest iteration of that.
Additionally, the memes are often clever and well-executed. They take advantage of pop culture references, current events, and other humor techniques to create something that is both funny and relatable.
The Response from Fans
Not everyone finds these memes amusing, however. Some Eagles fans feel that they are being unfairly targeted and harassed by Cowboys fans. They argue that the memes are a form of cyberbullying and that they contribute to a toxic online environment.
Others, however, see the memes as harmless fun. They argue that sports rivalries have always involved a degree of teasing and taunting, and that as long as it doesn’t cross the line into harassment or personal attacks, it’s all in good fun.
Comments from Fans:
“As an Eagles fan, I’m sick of seeing these memes all over my feed. It’s not funny anymore, it’s just mean-spirited.”
“I think people need to lighten up. It’s just a game, and these memes are a way to have some fun with it.”

The Future of Cowboys-Eagles Memes
So what’s next for these memes? Will they continue to be popular in 2024 and beyond? It’s hard to say for sure, but given the long-standing rivalry between the two teams, it’s likely that fans will continue to find ways to poke fun at each other.
That being said, it’s important to remember that there is a line between good-natured teasing and harassment. As long as fans keep it lighthearted and don’t cross that line, there’s no harm in having some fun with these memes.
