In 2006, Nintendo launched the Wii gaming console, complete with a range of features and accessories that quickly made it a fan favorite. One of the most memorable aspects of the Wii was the Mii Channel, where players could create their own avatars or “Miis” to represent them in various games.

But while the Mii Channel was popular in its own right, it was a simple tune that played in the background that would go on to become an internet sensation years later. The Mii Channel Theme, composed by Kazumi Totaka, was a short, catchy tune that stuck in players’ heads long after they had turned off their consoles.
