In 2021, a viral meme took the internet by storm. It was a short clip of an astronaut floating in space, accompanied by a catchy electronic tune. The meme was shared across social media platforms, and quickly became a sensation. It wasn’t long before the song behind the meme became just as popular as the video itself. The astronaut meme song was born, and it quickly became a cultural phenomenon.

The Origins of the Astronaut Meme Song

The astronaut meme song was actually a piece of music created by a young producer named Ooyy. The track, titled “Astronaut In The Ocean”, was released on the music licensing platform Epidemic Sound in 2019. It was initially intended for use in videos and other media projects, but it wasn’t until the rise of the astronaut meme that it gained widespread recognition.

What Made the Meme So Popular?

The astronaut meme was popular for a number of reasons. For one, it was visually striking. The image of the astronaut floating in space was both mesmerizing and surreal. But it was the pairing of the image with the infectious beat of “Astronaut In The Ocean” that really made the meme take off. The song’s pulsing rhythm and catchy melody created an earworm that was impossible to ignore.

But the meme’s popularity wasn’t just due to its aesthetic appeal. It also tapped into a sense of humor that was prevalent on social media at the time. The absurdity of an astronaut floating in space to a hip-hop beat was a perfect example of the kind of irreverent humor that was popular on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
