What is Acapella?
Before we dive into the specifics of Stromae’s “Tous Les Mêmes” acapella, let’s first define what acapella means. Acapella is a style of music where the vocals are performed without any instrumental accompaniment. This means that the singer(s) must rely solely on their voices to create the melody, rhythm, and harmonies of the song.
Acapella has been around for centuries and has been used in a variety of musical genres, from gospel to pop. It requires a high level of skill and precision from the performers, as they must be able to sing in perfect harmony and rhythm without the aid of instruments.
The Story Behind “Tous Les Mêmes”

The Acapella Version
In 2014, Stromae released an acapella version of “Tous Les Mêmes” that quickly gained popularity among fans. The acapella version features only Stromae’s voice, without any instrumental accompaniment.
The acapella version highlights the power and range of Stromae’s voice, as he effortlessly switches between the high-pitched vocals of the female character to the deeper, more masculine tones of the male character. The absence of instruments also allows listeners to focus more on the lyrics and themes of the song, which are just as powerful in the acapella version as they are in the original.
