Origins of the Knuckles Meme Song
The “Knuckles Meme Song” first appeared on the internet in January 2020, when a video featuring Knuckles and his signature dreadlocks dancing to a remix of the “Pump It Up” song by Danzel went viral. The video was created by artist Gregzilla, who posted it on the social media platform Twitter. It quickly gained traction, with thousands of people sharing it on various social media platforms.
Gregzilla’s video inspired other creators to make their own versions of the “Knuckles Meme Song.” Some used the same “Pump It Up” remix, while others created their own remixes or used different songs altogether. The meme quickly evolved, with people adding their own spin to the dance and the music.
Why the Knuckles Meme Song is So Popular
One reason for the popularity of the “Knuckles Meme Song” is its catchy tune. The remix of “Pump It Up” used in the original video is infectious, and it’s hard not to start dancing along. Additionally, the dance performed by Knuckles is simple but entertaining, making it easy for anyone to participate in the meme.
Another reason for the meme’s popularity is the character of Knuckles himself. He’s been a beloved character in the “Sonic” franchise for years, and people enjoy seeing him in a new light. The meme has also given Knuckles a new identity, with many people now associating him with the “Knuckles Meme Song” rather than his original role in the video games.
