General conference is always an exciting time for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s a time for spiritual enlightenment and personal growth, but it’s also a time for laughter and fun. The memes that come out of general conference are always a highlight, and 2022 was no exception. Here are some of the best general conference memes of 2022.
Table of Contents
The “Elder So-and-So” Meme
One of the most popular memes to come out of general conference 2022 was the “Elder So-and-So” meme. This meme features a picture of a general authority with the caption “Elder So-and-So said…” followed by a humorous or outrageous statement. The meme quickly spread on social media and became a favorite among members of the Church.
“The ‘Elder So-and-So’ meme is hilarious,” said John, a member of the Church from Utah. “It’s a great way to share a laugh with my friends and family during conference weekend.”
The Conference Bingo Meme
Another popular meme from conference weekend was the conference bingo meme. This meme features a bingo card with squares for different conference cliches, such as “talk about family history” or “quote a scripture in a foreign language.” Members of the Church played along during conference by marking off squares as they heard these cliches.
“Conference bingo was so much fun,” said Sarah, a member of the Church from California. “It made conference even more engaging and interactive.”
The “That’s Not What I Meant” Meme
One of the more subtle memes to come out of conference weekend was the “That’s Not What I Meant” meme. This meme features a picture of a general authority with a caption that makes it seem like they said something controversial or outrageous. However, the caption is followed by a quote from the same talk that clarifies what the general authority actually meant. It’s a humorous reminder not to take soundbites out of context.
“I appreciated the ‘That’s Not What I Meant’ meme because it reminded me to listen to the entire talk before jumping to conclusions,” said Michael, a member of the Church from Arizona. “It’s important to give people the benefit of the doubt.”
The “Conference Hangover” Meme
Finally, there was the “Conference Hangover” meme. This meme features a picture of someone who looks exhausted and defeated, with a caption that reads “When you realize general conference is over.” It’s a humorous take on the post-conference blues that many members of the Church experience.
“I always feel a little down after conference is over,” said Emily, a member of the Church from Idaho. “But the ‘Conference Hangover’ meme made me feel like I wasn’t alone. It’s nice to know that other people feel the same way.”
In Conclusion
General conference memes are a fun way to engage with the Church and share a laugh with friends and family. Whether it’s the “Elder So-and-So” meme or the conference bingo meme, these memes bring a lightheartedness to a weekend that can sometimes feel heavy. Here’s to another great year of conference memes!
