From political satire to pop culture references, here’s a rundown of some of the most memorable Mueller testimony memes.

The Mueller Facepalm

One of the most iconic moments of the Mueller testimony came when he was asked about President Trump’s claim that he had been exonerated by the investigation. Mueller’s response was a weary “No, it is not what the report said.” This moment was quickly turned into a meme, with images of Mueller facepalming going viral on social media.

“The Mueller facepalm has become a symbol of frustration for people who are tired of politicians twisting the truth,” says political commentator Sarah Jones. “It’s a way of saying ‘I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation’.”

The “I Take Your Question” Meme

Another moment that went viral during the Mueller testimony was when he responded to a question from Republican Congressman Jim Jordan by saying “I take your question.” This phrase quickly became a meme, with people using it to sarcastically respond to questions they didn’t want to answer.

“The ‘I take your question’ meme was all about deflection,” says social media expert John Smith. “It was a way for people to make fun of politicians who try to dodge questions by giving vague or evasive answers.”

The “They Had Us in the First Half” Meme

One of the more unexpected memes to come out of the Mueller testimony was the “They had us in the first half” meme. This meme originated from a tweet by comedian Jaboukie Young-White, who joked that Mueller’s testimony was like a sports game where the team you’re rooting for is losing at first, but then makes a comeback.

“The ‘They had us in the first half’ meme was a way of acknowledging the ups and downs of the Mueller testimony,” says meme expert Emily Johnson. “It was a reminder that even though things might seem bleak at first, there’s always a chance for a comeback.”

This meme plays off the popular catchphrase “Miller Time,” which is often used to celebrate the end of a workday. In the case of the Mueller testimony, “Mueller Time” became a way for people to celebrate the end of a long and drawn-out investigation.

“The ‘Mueller Time’ meme was all about relief,” says comedian and political commentator Samantha Williams. “People were so invested in the investigation that when it finally came to an end, they felt like they could finally relax.”
