In 2023, we look back at one of the most viral memes of the early 2020s: the skateboard stroller. For those who may have missed it, the skateboard stroller was a humorous mashup of two unlikely objects: a stroller and a skateboard.

How It All Started

The earliest known instance of the skateboard stroller meme dates back to 2017, when a Twitter user posted a Photoshopped image of a stroller attached to a skateboard deck. The image quickly gained traction on social media, with many people sharing and joking about the absurdity of the concept.

But it wasn’t until early 2020 that the skateboard stroller truly exploded in popularity. A video surfaced on TikTok of a father pushing his child in a stroller attached to a skateboard, effortlessly cruising down the street. The video quickly went viral, with millions of views and thousands of comments.

The Memes and Reactions

As with any viral sensation, the skateboard stroller quickly spawned a wave of memes and parodies. Some people created their own versions of the skateboard stroller, using everything from shopping carts to office chairs as makeshift skateboards.

Others poked fun at the idea of a skateboard stroller, suggesting that it was a dangerous or impractical way to transport a child. Some even created mock safety warnings and instructional videos, warning parents not to attempt the stunt at home.

But despite the jokes and parodies, many people found the skateboard stroller to be a fun and innovative way to get around with a child. Some parents even reported trying the stunt themselves, with varying degrees of success.

The Legacy of the Skateboard Stroller

Although the skateboard stroller meme has faded from the public consciousness in the years since its initial popularity, it still holds a special place in the hearts of those who remember it. Many people have fond memories of the jokes, memes, and reactions that the skateboard stroller inspired.

And while it may have been a silly internet meme, the skateboard stroller also sparked a conversation about innovation and creativity in parenting. Some saw the skateboard stroller as an example of how parents can take everyday objects and turn them into something new and exciting.
