The video was initially shared on social media, where it quickly gained traction and was turned into a meme.

Users began taking the audio of the possum scream and inserting it into various videos, such as movie scenes or sports highlights, to make it seem as though the possum was reacting to what was happening. The meme quickly went viral, with people sharing their own versions and remixes of the possum scream.

The possum meme scream has become so popular that it has even inspired its own merchandise. T-shirts, phone cases, and even plush toys featuring the possum have popped up online, with fans clamoring to get their hands on a piece of the meme.

The Science Behind Why the Possum Meme Scream is So Funny

While the possum meme scream may seem like just another silly internet trend, there is actually some science behind why it has captured our attention. According to experts, the possum’s scream triggers our fight or flight response, which causes us to feel a rush of adrenaline. Additionally, the absurdity of the possum’s scream is what makes it so funny. The idea of a small, harmless possum emitting such a terrifying noise is inherently humorous, and the meme has capitalized on this absurdity to create countless hilarious videos and jokes.
