What are “Memes de Mascarillas”?

Mask memes are exactly what the name suggests, memes that revolve around wearing masks. These memes often take a humorous approach to the idea of wearing masks, with many playing around with the different types of masks available or the discomfort of wearing one for extended periods.

One of the most popular types of mask memes is the “mask tan” meme. This meme pokes fun at the fact that wearing a mask all day can result in a noticeable tan line around the mouth area. Another popular type of meme is the “mask glasses” meme, which features people wearing their masks over their eyes, mistaking them for glasses.

Why are they so popular?

One of the reasons why mask memes have become so popular is that they allow people to make light of a situation that has been incredibly stressful for many. The pandemic has brought so much uncertainty, fear, and grief, but mask memes offer a brief moment of levity in the midst of it all.

Another reason why mask memes are so popular is that they are relatable. Almost everyone has had to wear a mask at some point during the pandemic, so these memes tap into a shared experience that people can bond over.
