In late 2022, Bungie released the highly anticipated weapon, Prometheus Lens, in their popular first-person shooter game, Destiny 2. The gun quickly became a fan favorite due to its unique abilities and high damage output. However, its popularity skyrocketed when a player posted a meme on social media, showcasing the gun’s power in a hilarious and absurd way. This meme started a trend that took the Destiny 2 community by storm, but like all memes, its popularity eventually dwindled.

The Birth of the Prometheus Lens Meme

The Prometheus Lens meme originated when a player posted a video of themselves using the gun in a game mode called Gambit. In Gambit, two teams of players compete to defeat waves of enemies and collect motes to deposit into a bank. The first team to fill their bank wins the round. In the video, the player equipped the Prometheus Lens and proceeded to melt the opposing team in seconds, leaving them stunned and unable to collect any motes. The video went viral, and players started to experiment with the gun in various game modes.

The meme took on a life of its own when players started to create funny videos and memes showcasing the gun’s power. One popular meme featured a player using the Prometheus Lens to destroy a literal mountain. Another showed a team of players using the gun to defeat a raid boss in record time. The memes were hilarious, and the community couldn’t get enough of them.

The Fallout

However, the fun came to an end when Bungie realized that the Prometheus Lens was unintentionally overpowered. The gun’s damage output was vastly greater than any other weapon in the game, making it a must-have for any player looking to dominate in PvP. Bungie quickly nerfed the gun, reducing its damage output to a more reasonable level. This change effectively killed the Prometheus Lens meme, as the gun was no longer as powerful as it once was.

The Legacy of the Prometheus Lens Meme

Despite its short-lived popularity, the Prometheus Lens meme left a lasting impact on the Destiny 2 community. It brought players together and provided a much-needed break from the game’s serious nature. It also showcased the power of social media and how a simple video can quickly turn into a viral sensation.

Many players still look back on the Prometheus Lens meme with fondness, remembering the hilarity and fun it brought to the game. Some even believe that Bungie intentionally made the gun overpowered to see how the community would react. Whatever the case may be, the Prometheus Lens meme will forever be a part of Destiny 2’s history.

Player Reactions

“The Prometheus Lens meme was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in gaming. It was a nice break from the seriousness of the game.” – John, Destiny 2 player.

“I remember using the gun in PvP and feeling like a god. It’s a shame that it got nerfed, but it was definitely overpowered.” – Sarah, Destiny 2 player.

“I still laugh when I see some of the Prometheus Lens memes on social media. They were so ridiculous, but that’s what made them so great.” – Mike, Destiny 2 player.

Conclusion

The Prometheus Lens meme may have come and gone, but its impact on the Destiny 2 community will never be forgotten. It brought players together, provided a much-needed break from the game’s seriousness, and showed the power of social media. While the gun may no longer be overpowered, its legacy lives on through the countless memes and videos created by the community.

In recent years, lens flare memes have become increasingly popular on social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. These memes feature a photograph or video with a lens flare effect added to it for comedic effect. If you want to jump on the lens flare meme bandwagon, here’s how to make them on your iPhone.

Step 1: Choose the Right Lighting

The first step in making a lens flare meme is to choose the right lighting. This effect is created by light reflecting off the lens of your camera, so you’ll need to be in a location with bright light sources, such as the sun or a bright light bulb.

Response from Photographer:

“As a photographer, I would recommend taking your photo during golden hour, which is the hour before sunset when the light is soft and warm. This will create a beautiful lens flare effect in your photos.”

Step 2: Open the Camera App on Your iPhone

Once you’ve found the perfect lighting, open the camera app on your iPhone. You can use either the front-facing or rear-facing camera for this effect.

Response from iPhone User:

“I didn’t realize that I could use the front-facing camera for this effect. I always thought it had to be the rear-facing camera.”

Step 3: Position Your Camera

Next, position your camera so that the light source is just out of frame. This will create the lens flare effect in your photo or video.

Response from Social Media User:

“I love how lens flare memes add a comedic effect to photos and videos. It’s a great way to make your content stand out on social media.”

Step 4: Take Your Photo or Video

Once you’ve positioned your camera, take your photo or video. You should see the lens flare effect in your shot.

Response from iPhone User:

“I tried this out and was surprised at how easy it was to create a lens flare effect on my iPhone. I can’t wait to start making memes!”

Step 5: Edit Your Photo or Video

After taking your photo or video, you can edit it to make the lens flare effect more pronounced. Many photo editing apps have a lens flare filter that you can apply to your photo or video.

Response from Social Media User:

“I like to use the VSCO app to edit my photos and videos. They have a great lens flare filter that really makes the effect pop.”

Step 6: Add Text or a Caption

Finally, add text or a caption to your lens flare meme to make it even funnier. You can use a meme generator app or create your own using a photo editing app.

Response from iPhone User:

“I’ve been having so much fun creating lens flare memes and sharing them on social media. It’s a great way to show off my creative side.” In conclusion, making lens flare memes on your iPhone is a fun and easy way to add some comedic flair to your photos and videos. What is a lens flare meme?

First, let’s define what a lens flare meme is. A lens flare is a photographic effect caused by light reflecting off the lens of a camera. In memes, lens flares are often added in post-production using photo editing software like Photoshop or apps like Instagram. The lens flare effect is exaggerated to create a dramatic and comedic effect in the meme.

Step 1: Choose your image

The first step in making a lens flare meme is choosing the right image. Look for images with a lot of open space, like a clear sky or a blank wall. This will give you more room to add the lens flare effect. You can also use images with people or objects, just make sure the light source is clear and unobstructed.

Step 2: Add the lens flare effect

Once you have your image, it’s time to add the lens flare effect. There are a few ways to do this, depending on your software or app. In Photoshop, you can use the “Lens Flare” filter under the “Filter” menu. In Instagram, you can use the “Lens Flare” effect under the “Effects” tab. Play around with the settings to get the right amount of flare for your image.

Step 3: Add text

Now that you have the lens flare effect, it’s time to add some text to your meme. Use a bold and contrasting font to make your text stand out against the bright flare. Experiment with different phrases and jokes to find the perfect caption for your meme.

Step 4: Share and enjoy!

Once your meme is complete, share it with the world! Post it on social media or share it with friends. Sit back and watch the likes and shares roll in.
