It’s 2023 and we’re all familiar with the power of memes. These funny images with clever captions can spread like wildfire across social media and often become a part of our everyday language. One such meme that’s been making the rounds is “Memes hijo tu que estudiaste” which roughly translates to “Memes, son what did you study?”

The Origin of the Meme

The origins of this meme can be traced back to a popular Mexican TV show called “La Rosa de Guadalupe” which is known for its over-the-top dramatic storylines. In one particular episode, a mother scolds her son for spending too much time making memes instead of studying for his exams. The son retorts with the now-famous phrase “Memes hijo tu que estudiaste” which quickly became a meme in its own right.

The Spread of the Meme

The meme quickly took off in Mexico and then spread to other Spanish-speaking countries. But it wasn’t long before it started to gain traction in English-speaking countries as well. People began using the phrase as a way to poke fun at themselves or others for spending too much time on social media instead of doing something productive.

The meme usually features a photo of someone looking guilty or sheepish with the caption “Memes hijo tu que estudiaste” written above them. It’s a humorous way to acknowledge that we all have things we should be doing instead of scrolling through social media, but we do it anyway.

People’s Responses

As with any meme, there are those who love it and those who hate it. Some people think it’s hilarious and use it as a way to make fun of themselves and their social media habits. Others find it annoying and overused.

“I love this meme! It’s so relatable and funny,” says Maria, a college student. “I spend way too much time on social media instead of studying, so this meme hits close to home for me.”

“I’m so sick of seeing this meme everywhere,” says John, a high school teacher. “It’s not even that funny and it’s overused. Can we please move on to something else?”

Tips for Using Memes

If you’re a fan of memes and want to use them in your own social media posts, there are a few things to keep in mind.

First, make sure the meme is relevant to your audience. If you’re posting on a professional account, for example, you probably don’t want to use a meme that’s vulgar or offensive.

Second, don’t overuse memes. While they can be funny and entertaining, using too many memes can make your account seem unoriginal and lazy.

Finally, be mindful of the origin of the meme. Some memes may have cultural or historical significance that you’re not aware of, so it’s always a good idea to do some research before using a meme in your posts.

In Conclusion

“Memes hijo tu que estudiaste” may have started as a joke on a Mexican TV show, but it’s now a viral meme that’s taking over social media. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that this meme is here to stay. So the next time you’re scrolling through your social media feeds instead of doing something productive, just remember: “Memes hijo tu que estudiaste.”
