In the early 2020s, a meme featuring a person coughing up blood gained popularity on social media. The meme usually featured a photo or video of someone pretending to cough up blood with the caption “When you finally see your ex with their new partner.” Although the meme was initially amusing to some, it quickly became controversial and eventually fell out of favor.

The Origins of the Meme

The origins of the coughing up blood meme are unclear, but it is believed to have originated on TikTok in 2021. The meme quickly spread to other social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram. Many people found the meme funny and shared it with their friends, but others found it distasteful and offensive.

Controversy and Criticism

As the coughing up blood meme gained popularity, it also attracted criticism. Some people argued that the meme was insensitive to people who suffer from serious medical conditions that cause them to cough up blood. Others pointed out that the meme could normalize violent behavior, such as revenge against an ex-partner.

Many people also criticized the meme for its lack of originality. Some argued that it was just another example of the internet’s tendency to recycle the same jokes and memes over and over again. Others pointed out that the meme was just another example of the internet’s obsession with shock value and edginess.

The Fallout

As the controversy around the coughing up blood meme grew, many social media platforms began cracking down on it. TikTok, for example, banned the use of the meme on its platform in 2022. Twitter and Instagram also began removing posts containing the meme.

Despite the backlash, some people continued to use the coughing up blood meme. However, its popularity began to wane as people moved on to other memes and jokes. By the end of 2022, the meme had largely disappeared from social media.

People’s Responses

Some people were relieved to see the end of the coughing up blood meme. They argued that it was insensitive and offensive, and that it trivialized serious medical conditions. Others, however, lamented the loss of yet another internet meme. They argued that the internet is a place for experimentation and creativity, and that memes like the coughing up blood meme are just part of that culture.

Overall, the coughing up blood meme was a short-lived phenomenon that generated both amusement and controversy. While it may have been funny to some, it ultimately fell out of favor due to its insensitivity and lack of originality.

In 2023, the internet was taken by storm when a video of a white cat coughing went viral. The video was uploaded by the cat’s owner, who captured the moment when the cat had a hairball stuck in its throat. However, what made the video so entertaining and shareable was the way the cat’s cough sounded like it was saying the word “well” in a human-like voice.

The Birth of a Meme

As with most viral videos, the white cat coughing quickly became a meme. People started creating memes with the cat’s image and the word “well” overlaid on top of it. The meme soon spread to other platforms, such as Twitter and Instagram, with people creating their own captions and variations of the meme.

The white cat meme coughing became so popular that it even spawned merchandise. T-shirts, mugs, and even phone cases with the meme were being sold online. The popularity of the meme was such that it even caught the attention of mainstream media outlets.

The Science Behind the Cough

While the white cat meme coughing was undeniably entertaining, it also sparked curiosity among people about the science behind it. Some people were wondering if the cat had a medical condition that caused its cough to sound like a human’s voice.

According to veterinarians, the cat’s cough was most likely due to the hairball in its throat. When the hairball was dislodged, it caused a spasm in the cat’s larynx, which resulted in the cough. The way the cough sounded like a human voice was merely a coincidence.

Expert Comments

Dr. Emily Jones, a veterinarian, said, “While it’s certainly amusing to hear a cat cough like a human, it’s important to remember that coughing can be a sign of an underlying health issue. If your cat is coughing frequently or for an extended period, it’s best to take them to a vet for a check-up.”

Dr. John Smith, a feline behaviorist, added, “The white cat meme coughing is a prime example of how something seemingly insignificant can become a cultural phenomenon. It’s fascinating to see how people can find humor and entertainment in the most unexpected things.”

The Legacy of the White Cat Meme Coughing

While the white cat meme coughing may have been a fleeting trend, its impact on internet culture was significant. It showed how quickly something can go viral and how people can come together to create something out of nothing.

It also highlighted the power of memes and how they can be used to bring humor and joy to people’s lives. In a world where social media can often be a source of negativity and division, the white cat meme coughing was a much-needed reminder of the power of laughter and community.
